today I'd like to talk about an idea that a lot of people have had (me included) and why it would be a good idea to implement it. what idea is it?
Gold for doubloons!
now, as we all know, you can buy gold from Larinna using bilge rat doubloons. but what if you could buy doubloons with gold?
now, I understand that if this is not implemented correctly, players would simply cash-in all of their gold into doubloons during and before gold and glories/community days, then turn it back into gold during the events, effectively duping gold. so in order to prevent that, the prices must be reasonable, but something only rich pirates would sink their gold into.
The Gold to Doubloons transaction ratio
Trade 13,000 G for 25 doubloons
Trade 26,000 G for 50 doubloons
Trade 52,000 G for 100 doubloons
Trade 520,000 G for 1,000 doubloons
The benefits of this change
this change would do multiple things for the health of the game, including:

a great gold sink for rich players

a lore explanation for how larinna gets paid

a way for pirates who disagree with reapers to get doubloons

An enriched economy/more stuff to work towards
but what do you all think? I personally, being a pirate who has never worked for the reapers, think it would be a lore-friendly Qol update. but I want an opinion from someone who flies the flag of the reaper and gets these chests daily.
