Fishing Rework suggestions

    Hopefully it is in the pipeline to have the fishing reworked in catch times for the quality of fish. You see a huge screen of fish to catch and know it is a patience game.

    But every single person I have partied up with friends or ransoms has complained about the times on the fishing. I enjoy completing achievements on SoT and it just drives me away thinking the fishing can be way better!

    My suggestions:

    • Outposts or fishing outposts (can't think of the name at the moment) selling fishing training for X amount per tier and have multiple tiers to achieve and purchase to speed up your pirates catches.

    • Or maybe have the order of souls sell you a potion to boost your catch rate for X amount of time for doubloons.

    • Have a fishing boat designed to catch exotic fish amongst the sea (Kraken, Megalodon, mermaids, etc.)

    • Have guild members/crew buff your fishing with instruments that has different buffs per instrument.

    To me the act of fishing is fine.

    However it is time consuming and I think the rep gained for selling fish to Hunters Call could be buffed rather than make the fight with the fish faster.

    A lot of boost and buffing here just to catch fish. XD

    I much prefer the Voyages we got from the event. Circle near an island, catch certain fish using bait.

    Maybe they can introduce new fish types like they done with the new treasures.

    @basicyeti88 I don't agree. I love fishing and imo the fishing speed is totally fine how it is. Don't touch my fishing before they ruin it!!😂

    Given how Hunter's Call didn't receive anything for S11, I think it's safe to say Rare just don't care about it.

    Fishing is fine I don’t think they need to improve it. they could add more fish possibly

    Agreed. Fishing and Hunters Call hasn't had a significant update in years... I know there are some people begging for an update, making it a true trading company, voyages and emissary ledger, et cetera, but to most of us it's an after thought; maybe I'll turn in fish I find in wrecks now, and maybe the trading post is just too far away. I've never fished near a wreck or storm or fortress, probably never will. It's not what attracted me to the game. Yea I turned in gems there until I maxed it out, but otherwise the only fishing I do is in the roar for food.

    But hey, that leaves the field ripe with opportunity for them to surprise us with a big HC update in the future. But I bet it'll fall flat on its face. Rare has the stats, they know how many people actually play this game to fish. The fact that it's gonna zero updates in this time is kind of evidence that most players don't really spend hours doing it...

    Those voyages were the most stupid thing ever made in this game...I'd rather see voyages with "catch 2 stormfish and 2 plentyfish"-kind of voyages instead...but I prefer fishing without any restriction like this

    No body goes on YouTube, sees a trailer for Sea of Thieves, and thinks to themselves, "oi, I bet there's awesome fishing in that game!!"

    It's not a primary attractor.

    @lordqulex But they do see the Meg and the Kraken and wonder why we can't fight them on demand, especially since everything else is on demand now.

    Merchants and Hunters is what brought to my eye on what looked like it needed some attention to give people more options to do even more. For me I am somewhat a completionist but I don't have the exact time to be one due to longer work hours.

    I wake up sometimes and crank up SoT and think do I want to do some battles or kick back and complete some things and I was doing them things that I suggested needed momentum and doesn't put you asleep but feels rewarding.

    I guess what brought me here again is reading on the season 11 trailer "Take on the world the way you want to", I knew players who took the game a lot more serious use the forums and brought to the table my suggestions which I hope others have an open mind to suggestions on improvement. It's good to see conflicting ideas.
