Allow Key Items to Dive

  • Just tried starting a Tall Tale from Galleon's Grave and decided to try the new Dive system to get to the voyage faster. We had the checkpoint for to go to the final island for Revenge of the Morningstar, which happened to be Wanderer's Refuge. However, the Dive system spawned in the skull and cup, dove to Kraken's Fall instead (expected at least Boulder Cay or even Cannon's Cove/Sunken Grove) and the Tall Tale failed as we lost the skull and cup in the dive, and even lost the checkpoint we were using. The system either needs to allow the key items during the dive or spawn them after the dive is over so they don't get lost.

  • So you loaded a checkpoint. It gave you the items and you decided to dive to cheat the distance?

Or am I confused what you did.

    That’s exactly what they did!

I wouldn’t call it cheating the distance per say. I’m surprised that the key items didn’t just spawn when you emerged at your destination.

  • @burnbacon You already have to choose to either dive or just sail before you get the items.

But if the TT items don't go with you into the tunnel, why would they even make a dive option for checkpoints. It's a bit of filthy trickery isn't it?

  • Well I say. If you got the items….just sail there. The diving is more for the “start” of the voyage anyways. Your already at the end push forward.

The reason why is we stopped at the end of "Revenge of the Morningstar" Tall Tale was because we got tired and didn't feel like fighting Greymarrow that night. The next day or so Season 11 was released with Diving so we intended to try it out rather than sailing from Galleon's Grave (R8) to Wanderer's Refuge (F12). We just wanted to save the 10-15 minutes but the big thing was that we ended up failing the Tall Tale due to the dive and not getting the checkpoint back. They added the mechanic in to save time so I wouldn't say it is "Cheating" the distance as we actually went through the quest already.
