The Ashen Lost Shipment voyage is not that great because I would expect mainly ashen crates but I only got 3 out of a little, maybe I have to level up for it to increase but I would love if they made it mainly or even only ashen crates and aswell for the emissary quest part where we can stack them please.
Improve the ashen voyages and remove the update where you lose your emissary quest when lowering flag at outpost

I like that you can't lower your flag to do your emissary quests. Hopefully it means more grade V emissaries sailing around!
Oh good. Rare catered to Reapers upset they can't get to Emissaries in time to sink them.
Great. Awesome. 🤮The PvP crowd that loves to say 'Be faster' or 'be better' get a handhold in that Emissaries can no longer keep their GV quest while dropping flag to avoid being a loot pinata.
The irony is enough to sink a Galleon.@guildar9194 I don't think I've seen a single request from anyone, reaper or not, who asked for this change. Whatever Rare's reasoning for doing it, I don't think you can blame "The PvP crowd", whoever they are.
Your reasoning is also faulty. In the vast majority of cases, crews would lower their flag and then immediately re-raise it in order to get it back to grade 5 via the emissary quest (thus earning another set of emissary quests) - so they'd still show up for a reaper either way.

I thought I saw more, but I can't find them, so either I did not, or I am just bad at searching. And no, it's not; One tactic to avoid being a target for Reapers was to get Grade 5, check of any Reapers are coming:
If no; Do G5 mission.
If Yes; Lower flag. Move to new islands. Raise Flag. Do G5 mission. Now, because the 'git guddites' have whined that they could not 'git gud' and get flags; People who want to avoid PvP are punished by losing their G5 quest.

Point of emissary flags and reapers is to promote PvP. It’s not something you level up to 5 just for the bonus when you sell, it should define part of your session if not the whole session. It’s risk/reward. Don’t want the risk? Don’t get the reward for the emissary voyages. I’m not even a hardcore PvPer, but it’s clear what the intent is and I’m all for sticking to their vision. Wish I could say the same for the other changes.

Only once we're Rank 5, giving us time to just do the mission.
And moving while no-flagged keeps them from seeing us or following us. With a little luck; they might assume we quit, or just pick a better target.
It usually ended up working, as Reapers making a beeline for us would go elsewhere. But now that's out the window, because we're forced to stay G5 to keep the G5 quest.
@guildar9194 Just think though, there will be plenty of other ships for them to go after to spread the risk around. Or do what I do. Go find the reaper and attack them pre-emptively before you even have anything.

FYI for a grade 5 reaper you show up on the map regardless of your own flag grade.
@grisch1801 Nah. At this point, it feels like the devs are trying their best to help me finally quit the game.
Changes to 'encourage' PvP, Safer Seas having arbitrary restrictions to 'encourage' High Seas, and absolutely minimal gold earns on SS.
It really feels like Rare does not respect people who want to avoid the PvP aspect, at this point.@knurd9369 said in Improve the ashen voyages and remove the update where you lose your emissary quest when lowering flag at outpost:

I don't do Reaper, so I had my info wrong.
Still, lowering and changing islands usually shakes them off, for whatever reason.
But now that is not allowed, because screw anyone who avoids PvP, I guess.@guildar9194 Dude, it’s literally described as a PvPvE sandbox game. Right there on the tin. They made PvP have almost no risk and if you really, really hate it that much, play in Safer Seas. Who cares if Safer Seas has less rewards, nobody is going to see your cosmetics anyway! The cosmetics are not payment for a job done, they’re markers along the journey.
If you enjoy the journey with no PvP, play SS and stop attaching value to a bunch of pixels and database entries. We don’t need more people complaining about the game not catering to them when they don’t actually want to play that type of game in the first place.

But now that is not allowed, because screw anyone who avoids PvP, I guess.Even if you have emissary 1, you’re visible to reaper 5’s on the map. The only possible way to not be visible is lowering entirely and staying lowered. No amount of lowering, re-raising, and/or island changing is going to make you not visible to reaper 5’s if you have any grade emissary raised. The times that they stopped following are probably due to them not following you to begin with, since most reapers (in my experience) are just out there PvE’ing.
I’m assuming this change is to remove the ability to stack emissary quest when you no longer have that emissary up. Kinda makes sense, right?

I thought I saw more, but I can't find them, so either I did not, or I am just bad at searching. To be fair that "request" was made 20 days ago - long after S11 was in the works.

If no; Do G5 mission.
If Yes; Lower flag. Move to new islands. Raise Flag. Do G5 mission. You could check for Reaper when you're just about to get G5, if yes: dive to new quest. Then do G5 mission.

Yuck.Just make a small adjustment in your tactics.
A G5 reaper will see you on the map anyway if you lower and re-raise. So in reality it changes nothing about this dynamic. It's actually now even possible to completely dodge a reaper on your server by diving since it lets you keep your emissary flag.
It's frankly as close to a win/win as you can get. Reapers get more G5 emissaries sailing around - a necessity for commendations as intended. And because of the new dive mechanic the other players can switch servers without losing their flag at any point after banking loot.
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
This is 100% Rare catering to reapers.
It's like they've made changes to appeal to new players... But the new players are just bait for the Reapers.
Getting grade 5 on an Athena Emo asset can be a long hall. You've earned those voyages, they're in your pocket. Sinking or lowering your flag should not rob you of them...I guess Rare was all about stealing voyages from their players this update.

@Guildar9194 Also worth noting that these new emissary quests are much improved over their predecessors, making a bit more risk worthwhile.
But yeah, as @VakrisOne said. You just need to change your tactics a bit. I'd even suggest preemptively diving somewhere into grade 4 for you if you notice a reaper on the map. That gives you a chance to pop up, check your new map for Reapers, and judge whether you need to finish the new quest quickly to dive again.
I remember discussing this with you in that other thread you mentioned. I'd say that your worries are 100% real in a vacuum, but taken into the context of this season as a whole........the new dive mechanic basically gives anyone an easy out to a new server, supplies and emissary intact. You don't even need a tall tale checkpoint to accomplish it now.
Ultimately, it does change your gameplay loop as described a small bit......but it's still very much viable with the new tools that season 11 has provided.

New players aren't exclusively PvE pirates. They may enjoy PvPvE or even be excited about the prospect of being a Reaper and improving their PvP skills whilst engaging in a hunt.
