Question Regarding Emissary Value

  • So me and a friend of mine were doing our monthly emissaries for the rewards this month. We start off by stacking sea forts since it's relatively chill and the mixture of loot is nice with Order of Souls up as our starting emissary. After I say roughly six stacked up we turn in, we get the max rewards, nice, and move onto the next emissary. Get it to 5 and sell the stacked loot for that faction, boom, get it done too and so on.

Come a few days later and we check the emissary value for one reason or another and see that we haven't hit the max reward when we know for a fact we did, in several of them as well. We are annoyed but shrug it off and redo what little we had left to redo, it wasn't much so no big deal, more gold and all that.

Just now checked once again and the haven't hit the max reward once more in a couple of them and some values seem lower than before but still at the max reward

Is this common? Does your value drop? Or is this some kind of server issue or something? I'm also now concerned that I might have missed rewards if it does indeed drop because we tend to usually just kinda get the max reward and tend to either not use those emissaries or just mess about on the seas thinking we got those rewards in the bag as it were.

  • The ledger is not a set number, it is a rolling number. It’s something like(don’t quote me) the top 20% will get the highest level. If there’s only 100 people playing then 20 people will get it. If there’s 100000 playing then 20000 will get it. So it matters more to be in a certain position than to have a certain $$ amount. Though you can use the amount to make a good guess about where you’ll be. It doesn’t close out until midnight UTC the last day of the month. So you need to be in that top # to get the reward. It’s very normal to be in the top at the beginning of the month and not by the end if you don’t keep up with it.

I personally play like normal and then the last weekend of the month make sure I have enough $$ plus a buffer. I tend to do about a 200k buffer over what the value is at that time and I’ve never been knocked out. Though I did have it where I was only a few hundred over and so just barely scraped by.

  • Ah, I see. Thanks for the information.
