it would be nice if you could play with more than 4 people

  • it would be nice to play with more than 4.
like you can add bigger boats for 5-6 people.
or you could also add guild servers so you and you guild can play in one server

  • It be nice. But not everyone has that many friends who stick around.

So it just be a feature to create alliance servers.

  • @dr-melk9388 start two ships put up Reapers Mark flag till you find each other on the same server the boom 4-8 crew mates ......outside that yea I doubt we'll ever get larger crew sizes or the ability to have multi ships on a server...,but then again we got Safer Seas why not a pure PVE server it's far more than Rare said they where going to do

  • Servers contain up to 6 boats. With up 16 people (I believe)

If you start adding 6 player boats then the number of boats on a server has to drop to maintain server stability.

Also adding a new boat type is a lot of work with months and months of playtesting.

  • @burnbacon never understood the hate behind Alliance servers like if everyone agrees to it why not in a since it's what Athena's Fortune stands for pirates working together and find treasure Ramsey himself says there enough gold in the Sea of Thieves for everyone so they have lore backing it up

  • @phantaxus I believe it's still down to 5 ships on a sever

  • @otherfanboy Most people have no problem with ones formed organically over a session. The problem arises with organized ones with the specific purpose of gaming the system for maximum profit and locking down servers indefinitely, some even charging for priority access to servers they do not own nor are renting (but are occupying and blocking public access to public servers). Technically the latter Discord groups are breaking the Microsoft TOS by doing that.

Even so, these Alliance servers did not become a major issue until Emissary Leaderboards were introduced. Before they really didn't hurt anyone other than obtaining cosmetics in a much easier environment (which does devalue the rarity of some), now they can consistently clog up the top leaderboard slots with outrageous numbers making it hard for some to reach those top tiers by playing normally.

  • @dlchief58 as emissary's go it doesn't matter if you reach rank 1 or what ever the lowest rank for the high tier reward the reward is the same but as breaking MS rules that's a fair point

  • @otherfanboy No, but many inflated numbers do push up the minimum amount to qualify for the top tiers (if enough people are participating in dedicated Alliance server play) thus pushing out some that would have reached that tier under normal situations without the presence of uncontested boosting by crews on said servers. It also delegitimizes the integrity of leaderboards with the allowance of such cheese.

  • @dlchief58 I suppose so just never cared about the leader boards I just like the hold and rep boost and the emissary quest/seeing all other emissaries

  • Only way I could see playing with bigger crews/ships would be 'raid' type events.

Large bosses/many ships, on instanced/closed maps, where multiple crews or players can get together to man larger ships against larger threats.

But it won't happen on normal servers. What we have is probably the best we will get, for normal servers.

  • @guildar9194 ahhh the hungering deep, Skeleton Throne, and Skeleton Fleets event(OG) it was so much fun to run with crews
