Cards/Board Games! Purchasable and playable against Players or NPC!

    New source of pirate entertainment has arrived!
    Honestly surprised that Sea of Thieves hasn’t dived too deeply with the social/player interaction aspect of the game or at least expand the sandbox by providing a new way for crew to entertain themselves while bonding with their crew or other pirates!

    Purchasing Cards/Board Games with your hard earned treasure!

    Players that has plentiful amount of Gold or Doubloon can spend them on Games and keep it for all future adventures/sessions.
    They can be brought from your Equipment Stores, Larinna or if you looking for cheaper prices for Games you can buy them from Seaposts if available.

    How does it work?
    Only one player is required to have purchased a game that everyone agreed to play or to play against NPC/AI pirates.

    In order to play, the Games must take place in suitable places such as Taverns, Ship or any place that has Table and chairs, players can bring in Stools to join in if there are no sitting spots and if there enough space for it.

    Solo play (play against NPC/AI pirates)
    For those unable to find anyone willing to play, players can choose to play against NPC/AI pirates commonly found sitting in Taverns (including the Sea Dog Taverns and Hideouts) for small or large reward depending on difficulty!

    What Games can you play?
    Any Cards, any Board, any Dice games that Sea of Thieves could add and give it a pirate theme if needed like UNO which would be nice to play in SoT if possible.

    I believe that all I have to say and hope that this would be added at somepoint in a future update.

    Idk. Something like this would've been nice in Arena Tavern. Or if they ever add an Arena-Tavern-like social space in the game. Though since this playerbase would rather report others than mute others, I don't think we'll ever have an Arena-Tavern-like social space again.

    We're already down to 5 ships per server lol. You really want one or more crews just sitting at an outpost playing blackjack?

    @pithyrumble if players don’t like being shot in back while gaming in the harsh world of High Seas they are more than welcome to switch to Safer Seas!

    @theblackbellamy most players will probably do their games in safer seas with friends so they won’t be taking up too much spots in high seas.
    Definitely would be nice if there was a social place but yeah that unfortunately ain’t happening any time soon after what happened in Arena

    To me it would be a waste of development time. I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen other crews in the Tavern.

    @butterfinger750 the card or dice games could be fun and they would be shorter vs and board game tend to longer played and more complicated ....side note the SoT board game(irl) is a ton of fun and worth playing

    @pithyrumble yea that would 100% be a problem then again you can make the players immortal why their playing and after the game is over they have a few secs of immortality but they can't attack either till it's over just enough time to get some distance from the other crew .....yea easier said than done but it could be something

    I'm guessing the game rating would probably take a massive hit in some countries if a gambling system was a feature.

    But you can still make up your own games like: Tic-Tac-Toe, Coin Flip, War, simple dice rolling games or if you are on a galleon you can play sevens, elevens or doubles as a team of 2v2.

    @vaughnsot a gambling system would be a nice addition but to hopefully avoid raising the game’s rating there shouldn’t be any of that if the Dev chooses keep the rating.

    BUT this doesn’t stop players from trying to gamble their loots away (this already happens with people using the dice emote) which is perfectly fine as that gives players options to either accept the loss or take it back by force.

    If you can play it on your ship you won’t have to risk being killed. They could add more seats around the captains table

    If anyone wins even 1 gold, it changes the rating.
