Automatic submission to The Skull of Siren Song Voyage after touching any part of its Quest.

  • A friend and I befriended a galleon crew who didn't exactly know their way around the game in detail. So we stayed on the ship messing around with them and showing them parts of the game that they didn't know about. We just so happened to sink a ship that was carrying the skull of siren song. After I picked up the skull and put it on their ship they were able to equip the quest and sailed us off to the Final Destination. My crewmate and I were not able to see the beacon in the sky nor the mark on the map where the final Island was so our galleon crew had to sail the way. I decided that would be a great idea to use their ignorance and sell the skull for myself before telling them the truth behind this voyage and how the gold is calculated between parties. But when we all boarded the island where Brigsby was at to sell, my sloop crew was not able to see or interact with Brigsby making it impossible for us to sell the skull without traveling halfway across the map back to our ship to vote on the voyage.

So my suggestion is automatic joining on to the skull of siren song Voyage the moment you touch any piece from the voyage.

I'm sure there's a few different situations that will have this problem as well such as, row boating to another ship and taking the skull which you did not know was there in the first place or already being on the final Island for a different voyage and the ship with the skull sinks your ship but you were able to kill the crew and steal the skull. I'm sure there are a few more unlikely but possible scenarios that fall under this problem as well but it is kind of disappointing to run into one of them and miss out on all that gold.

I do have recorded documentation on this event if anybody wants to see it.

  • This is such an edge use case I would hate to see the dev team spend time on it.

And that is the best case, in the worst case 8 players man a galleon and do missions because now they don't need both ships. That would be very ugly.

  • it prevents people from just tucking without accepting the voyage, the whole point is you need your ship

  • 1 crew mate goes back...duh.

  • @pithyrumble
My crewmate tried that. He mermaided back to our ship and said he couldn't vote on it. Now he is also back from a hiatus from the game so maybe he just didn't know how to, but the game should automatically sign you up to the voyage after touching any piece of its loot to avoid problems like this. This whole voyage is like a pseudo world event so it just makes sense in my opinion.

This quest dose not give gold to both party's. The crew who sells the skull gets the gold and the crew that dose not gets nothing. An 8 player galleon crew would have to debate on which crew gets the skull and the gold. But an 8 player galleon crew is very ugly in any scenario, not just this one.

I will agree with you and take back my point IF the devs state that the point of the voyage is to use your ship. For me this voyage is to encourage PVP scenarios and tricks.

Although it is hard to purposefully tuck on a ship that is doing The Skull of Siren Song Voyage ahead of time without voting on the quest. There is no hint in the matter that they are doing the quest until you see that they have part of the loot on board. It's easier to tell if somebody's doing an Athena Quest and tuck on to them then it is to tell if somebody's doing the skull of Siren Song Voyage and do the same.

  • The clue that its ment for that is in the description, they called it a pvp race
