Regular quests need MAJOR REBALANCING!!!!

  • First, I have to talk about the regular Athena quest. I just did an Athena quest. Took me an hour and all I got was the Chest of Legends and 2 other Athena items. Didn't even get to grade 3. This is my only option because of the difficulty with soloing a veil. (It's possible of course but its very chaotic). and we all know Thieves Haven runs are just awful...(why havent they come up with a new run like this?)

Next are the other quests compared to captains quests. For Captained animal quests you get like 10 to catch. With normal animal quests you might get 3-4. Also while I am on the topic of merchant quests. Can you add the supply crates to the voyages? I never get fruit, cannonballs, wood, or kegs. I only have 20-25 of each sold and I am a launch crew player.

With gold hoarder its just plain ridiculous. I am level 75 obviously and I will get non captain quests that will get me 1 marauders chest. Thats insane to me. Captained quests you always get at least 1 island with 5+ digs.

I understand that you can just always sail with your captained ship but that doesn't solve the normal Athena quest issue and it also doesn't solve joining crews where they aren't captained. If you arent captained, the only way to grind is to do world events. Tons of players like just playing casually doing normal quests but you get no money from it.

  • @purpmikeyyy solo is not supposed to be easy. I'd recommend a LFG or guild. Instead of asking to change the game why not adapt to the situation yourself.

  • For the veil,

the emissary flag raises quickly so what I would do is stick to veil voyages that give you islands you are comfortable with for the first quest. Do the first 2 parts and sell before doing the last part. That'll probably be a few athena items with a grade 3-4 flag. That's decent for the time.

Then if it looks clear go work on the last part and you have nothing to really lose if you sink. If you do pull it off just grab the athena items and get it to a safe outpost.

Veil is definitely the way to go, it just takes some strategy and efficiency and you can keep the "chaos" to a minimum.

You don't even have to finish it if you don't feel comfortable with the last part. You can farm the first 2 parts for some decent loot.

I don't have any issue with improved quests but it takes a long time to see changes so in the meantime you can work out some efficient veil runs specifically for you.

Strategy over everything else, you have more control over that. It might not be how everyone else does things but there is a compatible way for you to do things as they exist.

    Seems about right.

we all know Thieves Haven runs are just awful.

So awful, that you can do it and nobody will bother you :P

Can you add the supply crates to the voyages? I never get fruit, cannonballs, wood, or kegs

That be too easy to do. You can find cannonballs/wood/fruit at outposts.

I only have 20-25 of each sold and I am a launch crew player.

Sounds more of a "Player" problem not mechanic.

If you arent captained, the only way to grind is to do world events

Or..Sail around islands, Shrines, Fortresses or even steal from other pirares...

Tons of players like just playing casually doing normal quests but you get no money from it.

Mmmmmh, No money you say? then how am I wracking in 300,000 gold from normal voyages with a 'Emissary' grade 5 to help boost.

You seem to expecting to 'finish' everything...by increasing everything to grant you the high grade stuff.
Even the best pirate knows, a small chest is worth more than gold chest.
