High Contrast Seagulls

  • Add an option to highlight seagull or something cause I can't see them from so far away especially for lost shipment

  • @cptfrench22 you can change your draw distance but outside that use the spyglass

  • I support this

For some I see this as an accessibility feature and overall I think there are more pros than cons to it.

Imo more things should be added to the map, world events, birds that are specific to a player.

It's tough to see things a lot of times in this game and I don't think it really adds to the environment by being that way. It largely leads to sinking loot and abandoned voyages, as well as pretty unnecessary mild frustrations.

People can toggle it based on their personal preferences.

  • @wolfmanbush that's fair

For A LONG TIME I have agreed that Lost Shipment Birds are WAY too hard to spot A) at night, B) in the Storm, and C) in the wilds literally anytime of day.

I propose that similar to how there are neon colored, glow in the dark fish at night time, there are also similarly colored/glowing birds

  • @cptfrench22 it just cause I got astigmatism & if I try to focus on 1 tiny thing like those bird at night I'm getting a 5 min killing headache

  • @wolfmanbush I'd like to see nearby shipwrecks added to the map, sometimes after sinking a skeleton I can't find the loot. Especially at night.

  • Great idea. Man those seagulls are extremely hard to see at night, especially in The Wilds. I've wasted many a minute shuffling around in the dark trying to find the clues/wrecks on lost shipments.

    Neon seagulls 🥳

  • Yes, I would like this.

Also, update shipwrecks to have an air pocket (like in the Veil wrecks) since you're talking about the things.

That's just ezmode and totally unnessessary.

Not really. it may encourage players to stay down there longer, leaving their ship vulnerable. I've spotted plenty of pirates because I had to surface.

I mean, some do... some don't... I personally like the variety of different orientations that shipwrecks have - makes it seem more diverse & less cookie cutter / Copy+Paste whenever/wherever they spawn.

If literally every shipwreck was oriented to have an air pocket by either sticking it's bow or stern out of the water, it it would be very boring - plus - there's plenty of food down there to keep you alive while you're plundering, whether you stop your boat three or just do a drive by/shoot off.

I do agree that it's funny how you can swim down to a Shrine/Treasury or Veil Shipwreck and your air goes a lot further than spending the exact same amount of time being underwater anywhere else and you start drowning... SMH

Veil wrecks have air bubbles not an air pocket. When you swim through them (there is a sound cue) your amount of breath resets to full.

Ah ... I suspect the poster you quoted used 'air pocket' while they meant 'air bubbles'; as normal wrecks (and I guess those from the Veil) if partially above water could have air pockets already, but normal wrecks don't have bubbles.

  • @lem0n-curry

Either way - whether it's air pockets or air bubbles - it seems the idea is for all shipwrecks to be "easier"...

not like they're "hard" to begin with haha

It's about putting regular/lost shipment wrecks on par with Athena shipwreck graveyards. We're in an era of the game's lifespan where Rare are focusing heavily on player convenience through QoL updates.

Besides, as already mentioned, a convenient source of breath would encourage somebody like me to stay below the surface longer, meaning there's a risk as I'm not privy to the happenings on the surface.

And yes, I take a pocket of pomegranates down into a lost shipment. There's a lot of crates in those captain's quarters and quite a few like getting stuck on invisible surfaces rather than float to the top. They can be finicky.

Most Veil wrecks are deeper than regular wrecks; also all the opening of cupboards &c takes more time than picking up loot or going through the barrels of a regular one. They shouldn't be put on par as they are not the same.
