Encountering cheaters in hourglass

I feel your pain with cheaters in hourglass, you’re not alone for sure. I started coming to these forums solely for the purpose of seeing how cheating is being addressed.

I will say, though, that a few months ago it was awful, like real awful, and not just the closeted frauds trying to pass as legit, but the blatant flying/insta ladder/keg dropping/ship insta repairing/the list goes on, cheaters. After season 10 I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the lack of cheaters. With that said, my favorite hourglass/NAL streamer posted a vid vs an obvious cannon assist (whatever cheaters call it) and aimbot crew. I’ve had suspicions of cannon assist in season 10 myself but sometimes it’s hard to tell because cheaters tend to be garbage at everything except for what they’re using cheats for. They’re often terrible at helm.

Like dude said above, report these people. Even if it’s a report with no video or screenshots, just do it. Rare may not agree with that suggestion but at least you’re putting it out there for their awareness. If they get a report with no evidence, perhaps they log it, and if another report for the same person comes with evidence it’ll be easier to put two and two together. Maybe not, but worth a try. To be honest I didn’t have much hope months ago considering how rampant and blatant it was, but after season 10 I see Rare has the capability to mitigate cheating. It’ll be an ongoing battle of course but if you saw what was going on before vs now you’d understand (maybe you did not trying to assume).

Also for the record this wasn’t limited to hourglass at all, it definitely spilled over to adventure, just to a lesser extent on average.

For all those closet cheater frauds trying to pass off as legit: you’re the worst kind of cheater. I’d rather encounter a flying keg dropping racist psycho than the phony’s trying to hide their aimbot/cannon assist. The blatant cheaters are just troll types, the closeted cheaters are (insert prohibited insults)/ the worst. That last sentence definitely not limited to SoT.

That's easy to say for mods.

The game needs better tools so we can give devs/cheat reviewers more to look at. A ingame recording of my screen is just not enough, by the time something is recorded you have missed a lot of what's been happening off screen (out of your view).

The game actually needs something like the "BF2 Battle recorder", it was one of the best tools for fighting cheats besides the anti-cheat etc. You could download a file an hour or a day after the game session and that would have a full recording of everything.

You needed to play the file in a special program and it allowed you to view the game from any players perspective (fps view) from in that session. It would cut down useless submissions also because you can see what's actually been done etc instead of calling hacks when it wasn't.
