Skull of Siren Song interaction keybind

  • Feel free to tell me if perhaps I'm in the wrong here.

The F key is used to interact with everything and pick things up. So, why is the F key used to cancel the Skull of Siren Song instead of engaging with it? I ended up cancelling the voyage my first go round, having to jump servers. So, can it be possible that canceling something not be the same key as the complete opposite behavior?

  • +1 - This is so confusing from a user experience perspective. I did the same thing. I don't understand why the default interact key is cancel in this case...

  • I think their thought process was you “talk” to NPCs using a certain button and that button opens a “menu” and since you can “interact with this for a menu” it gets the same button. But yeah it’s super confusing that the default pickup button is the cancel button as you’re going to accidentally cancel it a lot, but you aren’t going to accidentally activate it very often and if you do there’s nothing lost… but if you accidentally cancel it then that’s it, it’s over.

  • Tt doesn't look like I am interacting with an NPC - It looks like I am interacting with a quest. The paper stabbed to the mast looks like a paper on a table, but with a dagger to hold it on the mast. The interact keybind is used to vote for a quest, while "R" or "talk" is used to cancel it. From a UX perspective, seems like a poor choice as the experience is inconsistent.
