Imagine you could put a ship-mounted flamethrower on the front of your ship (much like the ashen winds skull). Probably over powered, but I think it would be pretty cool.

mounting an ashen winds skull for limited fire starting is random fun and isn't that difficult to balance as it already exists now, just not mounted.
