Some items of this set have been released half a dozen times over the course of the last three years, like the tankard. Others, especially the bucket and the shovel have not been seen since early 2020. We've had multiple sets (for example ancestral or gilded phoenix) recurring multiple times which is super nice for anyone who missed out but I'd really like to see the remaining few obsidian/onyx/ebon items that have been on twitch drops during 2019/2020 to be released, in this instance the onyx four ones. I know we have to be patient but I've been patient for a few years now and would really like to complete the set with that awesome and clean looking shovel and bucket. Fingers crossed :)
Onyx Four Pack Items as Twitch Drops
@tesiccl that is true and also much appreciated. I am just wondering about the variation of twitch drop items relative to each other. I started playing mid 2020 and have not missed a single twitch drop item since then. I was super happy about slowly but steadily completing the obsidian cosmetics because to me they are by far the most beautiful and cleanly looking set in the game. Of course I did not earn any rights to demand anything, I'm just a player. I am just wondering why
- some parts of the onyx four pack (e.g. tankard) are being given out multiple times
- some other sets (ancestral/ori) are seemingly being given out multiple times a year
- some others like bucket and shovel have not been seen for over three years now
I am just curious if it is intentional to keep those ones exclusive to some or why this is the case. I felt like the whole set was bound to be a sort of exclusive thing when initially released:
- blunderbuss exclusive to the hard drive
- banjo exclusive to (specific) a Rare shop purchase
- six pack and capstans exclusive to Rare partnered streamers / communities
- blackdog items as a preorder bonus
- flintlock and ship cosmetics as certain twitch stream rewards
the onyx four pack had initially been released as a bundle for Chips Ahoy cookies which where only sold in the US as far as I can remember. People told me that they imported large quantities back in the day to get their hands on the onyx items.
This feels a bit unfair to me as it is effectively region locking people and rewarding some while "punishing" others for living in the wrong country. But again who am I to judge. Then in early 2020 the bucket and shovel have been released as twitch drops. So it seems not to be some exclusivity and contract-related thing with these.
I'm basically just wondering and thought about submitting the idea of having those beautiful items considered as future twitch drops. I can imagine that many people that started playing mid 2020 or later would love to obtain these.
@axecaliburtv I honestly don’t mind what they do and don’t keep exclusive tbf, it’s not a set I run anyway so I don’t care about getting all the pieces. My set is the sapphire blade stuff, I have all of that and it’s rarity is far beyond the obsidian stuff so imma stick with that ^^
@axecaliburtv just to update your list. Blunderbuss was also a convention giveaway back in 2018/2019 and the Banjo wasn't a Rare store item, it was a different website( I forget which)
i agree that thay need to bring back the onyx shovel and bucket and maybe the blunder buss and capstain/ancher cool that thay have the rug and name plate for your ship tho but these are the last ones that 80% of players have the last few are very hard/not seen rarely anymore so bringing those back would bring a lot of players back if thay made it limited event to get them
