Custom Hourglass Matches/Custom Servers in Safer Seas With no Added Progression

  • I would like to request that a separate game mode/version of hourglass made solely for friend use and practice with no progression, or maybe in coming updates have multiple ships in safer seas but unable to alliance to make it fair. Custom made matches in Sea of Thieves would be fantastic for messing around with friends! I know other games do it all the time and still manage to have competitive play and progression.
Also I love the idea of being able to sail alongside my friends together in Sea of Thieves. I think Safer Seas opens the door for ships to intentionally join servers were friends could be sailing on different ships at the same time. This mode/option could be in Safer Seas but would have to have alliance flags disabled, that way friends can choose to mess around and fight each other or practice with each other to get better prepared for High Seas.

  • To clarify about what I said above I don't want rare to add alliance servers in any way, so if it eventually becomes possible for ships to join in Safer Seas or some other mode it can't have the alliance flag. I mostly want some form of custom game or server that doesn't have much or any progression in it, this way my friends and I can mess around on different ships and fight each other. I feel like this would improve the game health and make it more enticing to play. Games like Halo, GTA V, and League of Legends have private servers where friends can join and private PvP matches that friends can join. I don't believe that game progression needs to be include since I play Halo all the time in custom servers and regularly switch between custom modes/modded servers and regular online PvP matches. I believe this change would make Safer Seas a better tutorial for the game as players actually get a chance to experience PvP in a safer and potentially less toxic environment. I also believe the moral in High Seas would benefit a lot during the release of Safer Seas since I feel like a lot of players are going to stick to Safer Seas rather than try out the main game.

  • So..you want to play ship battles without being online.

Not much practice because your playing against someone you know, the unknown player and not knowing what they will do is the best practice.

  • This is a great idea especially since people have been asking for a way to pvp their friends for a long time now. This would be no less than an extremely positive and popular addition.

  • i would agree but don't see any "practice" in it rather just a fun thing do to when you get burnt out versing a friend would just be a bit of fun and is do able in normal modes if you just dive at relitvly the same time.

Or you know, good teams are sick of playing against swabbies for 3 hours before playing against that known team/crew in HG, because that's the experience for a lot of us.
We'd rather have 4 galleons with 16 friends from the PvP community play it out, every night until the game finally dies.

It's just a lot funner, swabbies will stop complaining about being dumspetered by those gold curses like they usually do.
The communities that want to host events on custom servers are satisfied, and leave it that really.

A game that touts itself as being a sandbox game with ''tools not rules'' it's wild to me that theres still no custom/private servers. (Outside of Partners which again is limited in terms of functionality and has it's own bugs believe it or not)
I think we are well past the point of return in saying most people are fed up with the game state, a LOT of us would love a customizable server to mess around with groups of friends with and meet new communities that way, but tie the rewards/cosmetics to the base adventure servers.
Trying to fit everyone in one bubble is an old mentatlity.

Matter of fact I find it funny that those supposedly Toxic NAL/Sweats talking bad about the game months ago have come to fruition in what they were warning about for the 99% of the rest to catch up.
It took several failed Launched season for people to finally wake up.

I already made a post/suggestion that safer seas could be expanded into a custom server type, saving resources of having yet again make an extra server option.
The more players/crews on the safer seas servers the lesser the rewards, meaning if you have 6 ships you get 5% of the rewards instead of 30%.

Again I find it odd they want to baby sit players into another server with limits to it.
Literally treating us like 7 year olds, give us the tools to do whatever we want in custom servers, that is all. What's so hard to understand that?
