Since 2018, we’ve had the Meg and kraken for quite sometime now. But I’ve been thinking if there should possibly be a new boss, a sea serpent.
It would have a smooth movement and would wrap around the ship during its attacks. For it to spawn, you would need to have no world events happening and near a big rock or open area, such as the skeleton fleet spawn event area.
The length of the serpent would be the size of the kraken.
For yourself to be near a large rock, it would hide under it and then give a small attack on variety depending on crew size. For its beginning attack, you would hear a dash in the water and then your ship being met with a bash. The serpent attacks the front or back of the ship, causing 2-3 holes.
It would then circle the ship, shaking it with its long body, and wrapping itself around the ship. Just like how the kraken would do it. It would also use its tail to smack the side of the ship causing 3-4 holes.
To kill this beast, you would need to anchor, use your swords, and guns. Using cannons would cause some damage to it, but not as much as swords. Its thick scales would mainly deflect large objects and cannon balls. Blunder bombs however would cause a small knock out on it once, so that you can inflict as much damage as possible in a 15 second time span.
There would be two waves for this beast. The first wave would be that it will be less aggressive on you, but after the only knock you can get, it would be more aggressive and harder to kill.
You’ll know when it’s almost dead by its movement. When it becomes slower in its movement but more aggressive in its attacks, that’s when you’ll know it’s almost finished off. But rewards for killing this beast would be great.
First off, there would be 5 commendations for killing this beast and would be apart of the Bilge Rats progression parts, Shrouded Spoils. The five commendations would be, how many times you kill the beast. 1 time, 3 times, 10 times, 15 times, and then 25 times. Each commendation would earn you a brand new small set of ship parts that you can get at the ship yard or one of the sea posts scattered around the map.
You will also earn titles, such as Killer of The Slithering Beast, Slayer of The Slithering Beast, Hunter of The Slithering Beast, Grand Hunter of The Slithering Beast, and Notorious Hunter of The Slithering Beast.
Using these titles would be a great way to show off your slaying skills on the sea serpent and to also show off to your friends and fellow crew mates.
With theses commendations, it will include three different kinds of sea serpents. Blue, white, and black. Black being the rarest and only spawns at night and in shroud. White being the second rarest as it can only spawn in the shroud, and blue being the most common. Blue would spawn in both shroud and night, but don’t be mistaken because the blue can be misinterpreted as the Black Sea serpent.
With the commendations, the serpents will have different names. Blue serpent would be named The Sea Screecher. White would be named White Death. And black would be named The Dark Shadow.
Commendations and titles will follow with the names of the serpents, but can only earn the special titles if a certain number is killed. Notorious Hunter of The Sea Screecher would make you have to kill 25 blue serpents. Notorious Hunter of The White Death would have you kill 15 white serpents. Lastly, Notorious Hunter of The Dark Shadow would have you kill 5 black serpents.
A blue sea serpent would have a spawn chance of 60%. A white serpent would have a chance of 35% chance . And the black would have a 5% chance of spawning.
A blue serpent would have a nice glow of blue on its scales with green eyes, a white would have a slight red glow on its scales and a black would have a red glow on its eyes, and have a faint glow of purple on its scales.
But as a bonus, just like how you kill both the kraken and Meg, you get chests, skulls, and merchant products. When you slay the sea serpent, you will receive chests such as stronghold, chests of tribute, or with an extremely rare chance of receiving a Chest Of Fortune. Skulls will include the basic skulls such as foul, disgraceful, hateful, and villainous. But you can also earn stronghold, skeleton captain, and ashen winds skulls as a small chance as well. Merchant products would include crates, siren gems, and coffers. The rarer kind you can get is the mega kegs, or ashen crates. Basic gems as well, blue, green and red.
If developers and creators consider this idea, I hope for it to be part of season 11 or 12.
Thank you for reading this.
A new kind of boss on the seas
You mentioned rocks and I think that's a great spot for the spawn.
Megs and krakens are open water spawns so another monster spawn in those conditions is pretty eh
but rocks makes it interesting! only spawning around rocks completely changes the monster spawn scenario in an interesting way and fits well for a serpent attack
I really like that.
This is a great idea - I agree with the idea of the spawn location and the sea monster you suggested, I've thought of suggesting something like this for a while so it's good to see others have similar ideas.
Perhaps there could also be trinket rewards or a 'Legendary Hunter of the [Serpent Type]' titles, like there are for the Megalodons and Kraken?
