Kill Counter for HG

  • Ahoy!
If you go to either the Servants or Gaurdians page, you can see your highest streak, ships sunk, and highest HG value awarded. I just want one for kills while in HG too. I think it would be nice and not that hard to implement.

  • @riptide3683 I wouldn't mind this but I suspect they've intentionally kept normal ships sunk and people slain out of stats to prevent excessive farming of noobs

  • @hiradc Yeah, I initially thought it could be a captaincy milestone but then thought maybe it's better to keep it for HG. Plus, as I said before it already displays ships sunk and stuff.

  • No, that would be encouraging excessive boarding, there are already players (many) who don't even try naval battle, they just want to get on your ship and kill you endlessly, giving them a counter would be giving them a gift.

  • @lleorb Not really. Just don't tie any commondations to it and there won't be an incentive. I just wanna see how many people I've killed.

  • Rare has avoided putting any kind of stat into anything after arena because they know some people will lock down and spawn camp a weaker crew just to inflate that number. They want hourglass to be entirely about the sink, not the kills.

  • Just don't tie any commondations to it and there won't be an incentive.

Neither is tucking, or enemy anchor drops. But players still do it XD

Anchor drop to get a death spin, tuck to steal loot IMO.

  • @riptide3683 Still, a counter would be an incentive for a specific type of player (who doesn't want naval, just TDM or spawnkill) to continue trying this same approach, but now with a "victory" counter to inflate their ego.

The hourglass is a naval battle, the naval must be encouraged and the board used as a tool and not the center of the combat.

  • @lleorb Yeah, what's up with that? I've been doing a lot of HG lately and have been encountering more and more people who are terrible at naval but once they board you have no chance. I mean, I'm a double gunner myself but it's not like I go for abboard ever 2 seconds. I even consider myself good at naval. So why are so many people not finding a good balance?

    Happy Sailing!
