Hourglass failing to find opponents?

  • I've not been as actively playing recently and certainly not hourglass. My last few sessions theres been a massive increase in the failing to find opponents.
Both times this was gally hourglass, eu servers (xbox) with the hourglass showing queue times of a minute implying there are a fair few people queuing.
These haven't been extended queues in the tunnel, quick emergence then message and spawn at outpost.

The first time we had an issue where we couldn't dive while in battle, closing game wouldn't fix and after about 5 mins we randomly got a win
2nd time we had like 4 back to back failures so just gave up.

I will raise a ticket on this although I suspect with there being a failure message rare should be able to track frequency and see if there is a large increase just wanted to check other players perspective first.

  • Try Brig or Sloops.
You be happy with those quick fights

  • @burnbacon I do bit of everything but mainly use lfg for crewmates and lots seem to prefer gally. The queues weren't even bad was the weird thing

You can’t trust the que. It’s a suggestion and not a guarantee. The problem is that some people play the hourglass and either quit because they lost or turning in their hourglass. The que list simply hasn’t updated yet and it believes there are matches available. If the hourglass fails to find opponents it’s because the opponent quit or there is simply no opponents to be found

  • @coffeelight5545 I get that and I've done my fair share of hourglass, but usually you'd just be sat in the tunnel in queue. These have been short queues ending in resurface which makes me wonder if its struggling to connect the matchmake rather than find it.

  • Been seeing this glitch more and more often since community day, that and the "failure to cannon launch" bug where it just plops you straight down out the end of your cannon into the water

  • @hiradc

I personally had the same problem. The problem is connections to the server. I matched up on community day and lost my connection to the server. It kicked me from the game. When I returned my ship was at the outpost with its streak in tact.

I have also had servers so unstable that my entire crew has been kicked from the game. I suspect that you were unfortunate to find an unstable server where your opponent may have been kicked from the game resulting in a failed matchmaking.

  • Just to add I've asked a buddy who has gold curse if they've also noticed this and they confirmed has gotten a lot worse recently and they've mostly gone back to adventure until its fixed so def not isolated incident
