Capture Skeleton Ship

  • Let use steer, no anchor, but no bailing, when it is full it sinks!

    Occasional skeleton respawns!

  • @Foambreaker Purifying skeleton ships would be pretty cool, it'd have to be where only one ship per crew or something, maybe the hull gets locked out so players cant go below to prevent bailing water

  • This would be fun for a lot of reasons.

  • I go along for the ride. Srysly. Get some meat. Hop on a rando spawn (not the fleet... they just stop), scuttle. The poor bone heads have no idea what to do besides attack the meatbag since the ship is gone. It's an interesting voyage. They run into stuff like they used to.

I would like to take it over and sail it to an HG match. For science reasons.

    This made me lol

Yet when I made a post about AI crews that can't bail yall jump down my throat like a pack of wild dogs..

  • @foambreaker Just being able to anchor them or take the wheel would be enough, it would also improve skeleton fleets.

Not seeing what real players using a ship has to do with AI crews?

  • @foambreaker take your idea of using skeleton ships with the occasional skeleton respawn and Pithy's idea of using them in the hourglass matches and what do you get?
    Answer = AI crews

No, the skeletons that respawn will attack the players on the ship, not help.

No, the skeletons that respawn will attack the players on the ship, not help.

I know that was your intent but adding Pithy's message about hourglass would mean it wouldn't make sense and be extremely unfair unless both ships were commanding these skeleton ships

    No, just no.

Lets say I sail into an HG region where two ships are fighting.

I begin attacking one or both of the ships.

Skeletons respawn and attack ME, they attack ME, not the other ships.

  • @foambreaker I'd imagine they will do both like how you can board skeleton ship now, if there's a ship for them to shoot at they still will provided you aren't right besides the cannons

  • I'm not seeing a downside to any one of these ideas here.

  • Well if HG players weren't afraid of a little spice, megs, skellies, krakens should spawn. HG should also spawn near active Skelly Forts, Sea Forts, in the Storm, in fog...near an active volcano 😋

I'm taking something over that is actively trying to kill me, not spawning buddy bots on my ship. The skellies would be constantly respawning and attacking a player, taking the ship wheel back over...and doing whatever at that point. It would be a unique challenge.

Guiding a skelly ship into a battle ²is very different from a buddy bot safety bailing you because you missed a tier 1 hole.

You ever get chased near the Fleet, cut across the corner so you can get out and they'll spawn on the chaser not you.

    The lulz.

  • @pithyrumble It doesn't spawn in fog anymore, apparently there was weeping and tears 🤣

  • This would make sinking skelly ships too easy. Sail it into rocks or drop anchor and guard it while your crew park in front and shoot it.

If you want it to mess with other playere then it needs a few adjustments. At most you could helm it but the ship does not take damage from running into rocks, can't run aground the ship it auto deflects when in shallow water. Skellies spawn the same, will but will also man the cannons if a ship is in range. It would be cool if you could barrel hide, and providing no skelly saw you they will not attack you.

This would give a new strat to get close to world events, or sneek up on a ship doing a voyage of some type.

If you scuttle your ship and defend yourself aboard a skelly ship it will eventually blunder into a rock. Duo slooping with my superior skilled child this is literally what we do. Get a hole, get aboard, guard the hole, defend the sloop. Obvs taking over a skelly ship's wheel should be a solo slooper perk, since you'd have to scuttle still to go on the skelly voyage.

Imagine stealing a FoF by skelly tuck... I'd try it lol.

Well first off the suggestion was to not allow the anchor.

Second, if you have boarded the ship and killed the whole crew sinking the ship is trivial, you have already won.
