The fans that watched the most watched tv show in over 83 counties will play Sea of Thieves if you make even a small reference to One Piece. If you had the devil fruits as trinkets for example then SOT would have their highest surge of players it’s ever had. It’s not even a joke. And that’s low hanging fruit.
With season 1 of Netflix’s One Piece live action having done so well, and us being in the mid time before season 2 where every fan around the world is excited to see anything one piece related coming from America, I think right now is THE BEST possible time bring some of that revenue to Sea of thieves.
If you put a straw hat with a red ribbon in this game I swear to the Pirate Lord himself that you will have ride or die one piece fans playing Sea of Thieves daily. It doesn’t matter if it’s even a figure head, trinket, or a pet costume. You will have record numbers of players trying to obtain those items there’s no doubt in my mind.
Obviously it looks like I’m just biased I’ve been asking for a straw hat since day 1. I mean the thought of a Straw Hat pirate flag in the sea of thieves style on my sloop gives me goosebumps. But this is different. This is purely about business it truly think this could be HUGE for Sea of Thieves.
Oda is such a fun loving guy. I bet he would be happy to have One Piece represented in a game like SOT that builds relationships and promotes freedom. Even without the money I think Sea of Thieves and One Piece are kindred spirits and all the fans from either side would benefit from a crossover.
