Can spawn camping get you banned? The CoD doesn't say anything about spawn camping even though I have heard from multiple sources it is. But is it actually?
To make things very clear here.
Can you get banned for killing another crew over and over again on their ship till they kill you, leave or scuttle?
I would like to add to this that it is just about the act of repeatedly killing the other crew, not about offensive or toxic language used as many might associate it with or with the objective to acquire supplies or loot. I am aware that there are people who spawn camp just for the sake of spawn camping because they enjoy it (and those people tend to act toxic). However, it can be a very good way train your skills when it comes to boarding, killing, buying time and surviving.
If you could get banned from spawn camping are there any parameters that are taken into account when such decision is made?
For example:
-Amount of times you killed the crew
-Amount of time you are spawn camping for
-Who you are spawn camping (think about streamers or new players)
-Repairing their ship to make the spawn camp last longer
-Bailing water to make the spawn camp last longer
-Continuing the spawn camp after the opposing crew tells/asks you to stop
The issue I currently have with spawn camping is that I just don't know what I am or am not allowed to do. I have had instances were I have no ship nearby and I had to make use of spawn camping in combination with fire bombs to sink another ship which I believe you are allowed to do. But I have also had instances were people would just spawn camp me for fun. I luckily don't really mind that since I like the challenge to break a spawn camp. But for people who do mind it would be nice to know that they can just record and report the player(s).
The game has the option to scuttle so it would only make sense to me that if you don't want to be on the receiving end of a spawn camp u can just scuttle (and change servers if desired). Which would be better then sinking, since you have control over when you end up sinking. Meaning you can try to break the spawn camp which would allow you to continue your adventure if you succeed, but if you think you just can't do it then scuttle which would be the same as sinking. There can however be a bit of a psychological issue when it comes to scuttling compared to being sunk. For some people giving up is just not an option.
After some reading on the topic not everybody (new players) seems to know about the scuttle feature making a spawn camp unfair, which is understandable. But if I am correct the game does notify you on the ferry of the damned that there is a scuttle option. What exactly triggers this notification I am not sure of, but I believe it is repeatedly dying.
I would love for rare to clarify their stance on the subject so people know when they should or shouldn't be reporting players and so that players know what they can and can't do when it comes to spawn camping.
