I do a lot on my PC. I sometimes tab the game. I can hear the game under whatever I'm doing. It would be very nice if the game made a bell sound or something before auto logging you. I've lost a lot of fish and treasure.
AFK auto logout warning needed please.
IMHO the current timer is broken and sometimes logs you out after just a few minutes. It has happened to me twice in the last few weeks.
But I agree we need a sound warning, especially considering this is a game where you lose all your supplies and loot if you get logged out.
The current method is unfriendly at best, downright rude at worst.

@burnbacon there are several scenarios in the game where you‘re just waiting on stuff to happen, most notably megspawns. Or farming minutes slept. Or minutes sitting. Or tucking.. Or if you and your crew are taking turns on steering the boat. Especially season 7 gave us a lot of reasons just to be idle. Theres numerous other examples where you’re not doing anything „productive“ in the game and might as well tab out to do something else while you wait on the game. For all of that at least an audio warning would be very nice. You are not really afk anyways if you still listen to the gamesound.

I don't have a second monitor, but I don't like to alt+tab that much during a game where it's important to not run into rocks, be aware of nearby ships that might be looking to slay you for any reason whatsoever, and most activities requiring your attention if you're at the very least interested in it.

Also if ones hunting megs for example, ure purely going by sound - since the sound in the game in general tells you a lot about your ingame sitation why shouldnt it tell you "30 sec until forced logout due to inactivity" and so on - same as this should be a chatmessage to you. As I said there's several gamemechanics implemented right now that require you to not do anything. Why not warn people that arent afk but are just watching their screen/listening to the sound carefully that they're about to be kicked due to "inactivity"?

Because I'm willing to believe that if you're meg hunting, that's a risk you're deciding to take, and is not an activity fully supported by the game or its devs. You should spend some of that meg hunting time tackling a fort, or digging up some treasure. At least make some meaningful use of your time.
@nex-stargaze farming ”time spend sitting“-milestones while waiting on the meg. Is a productive use of my ingame time according to season 7 and therefor fully supported by the game and its devs.
My points that why force people to get a 2nd monitor, if listening to the audio would be the exact same thing?
Anyways even with a 2nd monitor, it would be great to have at least a visual warning that youre about to get lazybearded.
