Handheld map

  • There should be a map in your inventory that shows where you.Are you won't be able to zoom in or out and it would show just a bit around you and when you go a certain distance it will update.

  • you want a radar?

  • @celtic-mad-fan Would make treasure maps too easy.

I would like to see a small chart in the rowboat, but it would not be removable.

  • @celtic-mad-fan the islands aren't even big enough to be needed there's maybe one or two islands that can a little tough to find treasure but no one ever said it was supposed to be easy(tho it is) if you want a radar you can makeshift one by getting a reapers chest, one crew mate takes it's and one remains on ship and guide the one with the reapers chest to what ever your looking for ......use the tools you got

  • A map of what?

A map of all islands which shows you where you are? Well you have one on your ship already.

A same map while on an island? For what purpose, also most can remember the name of the island they are on.

And most of the time you will have one if you have a purpose of being on that island.

I don't mean to sound like I am mocking your idea, but I just don't get what's the purpose of this and why you actually need this?

  • I would like there to be a portable Map of the Seas... but I definitely think there shouldn't be an Icon on it like the map Table on your ship. Being able to triangulate your position using landmarks and other islands is one of the best parts of being separated from your ship. If they had an Icon showing where you were, it would remove all of the challenge of X Marks the spot maps, or the "What is the wrong symbol" in the Veil Voyages.

  • Maps on your ship.

  • @celtic-mad-fan

Yep. Being able to pull up a rudimentary map of the Seas on your person (while not on your ship) could definitely be useful from time to time and reasonable to assume pirates would have on them in the world in the game. There are many instances when you are on an island and trying to orient to a next/another destination or just trying to establish yourself in space or in the world at the moment where it could be useful. More than once I've wished for this. That doesn't mean it has to have live (where you are now) marks on it.

We all know there is a chart on the ship. We all know we can look at it when we are there. That is implicitly known in the suggestion.

  • no matter if this would make sense or not, I'd vouch for any kind of handheld map to not receive live updates about potential Reapers or emissaries appraoching. It could be something to help you navigate islands in search for treasure but having a live updated map like on your ship would make surprise attacks on other ships way more difficult.
