I have a i7 4070ti 32ram cyberpower and this pc never overheats. I can have so many apps open at once and never have a problem. Sea of thieves on the other hand makes my pc go into cardiac arrest. My fans all work my water cooling is working and i even took my screen off to give my pc a little bit more airflow but nothing. My 3000$ pc cant handle sea of thieves. Has this happened to anyone else? I would love to figure this out because I just got into this game and its all I want to play right now.
WATER COOLED PC OVERHEATING
SoT is a more CPU than GPU heavy game, meaning your i7 is the bottleneck here. If you’re letting your GPU’s software auto select the desired graphics, it will be too high. Take everything off mythical settings and you’ll see a difference. On my PC if I go with the nvidia suggestion my PC gets too hot, but if I set everything 1 below the nvidia suggestion then I’m fine.

No problems, and running SoT on a 6 year old machine. SoT is not really a heavy game on PC. (Running it with full graphics on a rather big monitor.)
And that must be the reason why everyone who wants a sensible FPS is running it on Cursed with mandatory SSD installation.
@tonycox187 try playing around with it. You can adjust certain ones to be rare instead of legendary and the like. It’s still a beautiful game even on rare graphics. And I know certain ones have a bigger impact than others.
water cooled PC overheating - my fans all work my water cooling is working
One of these is false.
You should monitor the % use of your hardware vs. the % rate of fans vs. measured temperate.
Make sure your fans are not in silent mode, because that is simply not suitable for high load. Also make sure your fan connections are in right slots and are receiving stats from motherboard (perhaps there is an app to your cooling system required etc.). Finally, make sure your pump works as expected.
