Tall tales from the series Shores of gold need correction

  • I decided to try the last tall tale called "Shores of gold", the story itself is quite normal, but how tiresome it is to drag medallions around this HUGE island. I played solo and I constantly had to drag these stones on foot from one end of the map to the other four times. They cannot be sold or otherwise benefit a player from another team, so why not add the items used for the story to the Voyage inventory? And this applies to all the tall tales from this series, it can be boring to drag around with these items, and in solo, even worse, the exception could be chests and a barrel of gunpowder frome "ART OF THE TRICKSTER"

  • Yeah it's a critique that the island is large with too much empty space in between. Either the island is reworked so that the medallion insertion stone is closer to all the vaults, preferably the middle, or they allow the player to run with those medallions. It's a rough experience from the tale that is only made better with more players as you can divide and conquer those medallions.

  • A couple times when I did this I just brought an empty treasure chest to move multiple medallions at once. You can also put them on your ship and then ram it into the area close to the last medallion vault (the NE one with the spikes) and then just run them up to the coin room at the end since there is a ladder on that side.

I think you can still sword lunge off the cliff onto the ancient statue so you don't need your ship on that side to open the doorway.

  • Your “suppose” to go into it as a crew.

  • @d3adst1ck you still walk slowly with the chest and it closes the view, I do not know this island and I think that any player who makes this fiction for the first time will not think of it and I'm talking about all the tall tales, that's when you find the keys in the story "THE FATE OF THE MORNINGSTAR" you have to go down from a huge island and leave it on the ship, in order not to lose items and the same with chests, and so it should be done 3 times (if I remember everything correctly) It would be much easier if these keys remained in the inventory, right?

  • @burnbacon That ignores that the game is now like 70% solo players. But yea. Perhaps collectors chest should be upgraded to hold 4 items and shores of gold should either spawn one on your ship for use or give you an X to dig up on the island to use. Though I imagine if the TT gave you one then people would complain that it's too easy to get a started collectors chest via checkpoints... Which would be insanely trivial. I usually just stop at some small islands on my way when starting a session to try and find one if I know I will need them. Or do a riddle if I have one.
