@stew360 said in Will Melee Island ( monkey island ) Ever going to be integrated into the Open world game ?:
@tiglekk To get its environement , they can make open worlds events on it PVE and PVP to encourage players to play there and so on the envioronement is great and could be used and reused instead of wasted on few minutes / hours of tell tales ..
I explained earlier that they can't do that, because it's licensed content. When the license expires, and if the agreement is not renewed, this content will get deleted so it's better to keep it segmented away to make it easier to remove and not affect the main game. It's in the disclaimers, and even includes stuff you have bought with Ancient Coin.
There is this page that was put up when A Pirate's Life came out, so I'm not sure if it's the same agreement for Monkey Island since they are both Disney owned properties, but licensed stuff can and will eventually expire:

Access to the content you are buying is governed by the terms of Disney’s license to Microsoft. When you select buy, you obtain access to certain Disney content until at least June 30, 2031. If Disney’s license to Microsoft is terminated and consequently you lose access to such Disney content before June 30, 2031, you will receive replacement non-Disney content of equivalent value to Ancient Coins that you originally paid for such Disney content. The replacement non-Disney content will be at Microsoft’s sole discretion and no alternative will be offered. In addition, when you select buy, you agree to the Store terms of sale and you will obtain immediate access to your content and thereby lose any right to a “cooling-off” period to cancel this purchase and get a refund.
So the agreement is until 2031, but can be terminated earlier in which case you'd get equivalent cosmetics if you bought any of the costumes or themed items. If the game is still running and the agreement expires, I guess your stuff just disappears and you don't get any replacement?
