Throwing Items Such as Treasure/Loot

    The title says is all! I think it would be fun to allow players to throw handheld objects, like skulls, bombs, and other treasures! Maybe press and hold LT then press RT to toss/throw that object. It could feel a little bit like the current throwables, but it could be done with treasure.

    Imagine the fun of tossing a high value treasure to your friend while being chased by another pirate or igniting the flint on a keg and throwing jt over a rock at an unsuspecting team.

    I personally would like this feature for more practical reasons. The current systems only allow you to drops loot in front of you wherever you're standing. I can't tell you how many pieces of loot I've lost from dropping it on a ledge and it gets stuck. This would help reduce those frustrating moments significantly. Especially if they added some sort of ragdoll physics to the item so it could bounce, roll, ricochet, float, etc.

    I find it a fun mechanic but might cause some issues, as objects such as chests or skulls would need to have a hitbox in order to be tossed around.

    Also, they would need to have collision so they can bounce around or fall if they are near an edge.

    That's the reason why I think this is impossible to implement in the game, as the server will need to calculate a lot of things such as angle of throw, weight, the time of flight, the drop interactions and the final result.

    I'm all for new and exciting ways to get my loot stuck halfway down a cliff because I don't want to go all the way back down marauders arch

    This is probably impossible, but sounds really fun, so I’ll add on with more ridiculous stuff

    What if thrown loot can be caught midair with the grab button, and if it hits your pirate it goes bonk and does a bit of damage?

    @stryker-osiris That seems like a good idea. I'm all for playing beach volley with skulls and the like. A new challenge should be tossing firebombs among crew members to find out who is the dropper.

    Deep Rock Galactic does this in a fun way, you can easily throw certain objects around and fluidly catch objects your team mates have thrown

    Could be good!

    @capt-pilotes Right. The physics engine would need some upgrading but I think doing so would be a pretty big pay off!

    @paparug420 That's right! I forgot the game had this concept. I think it would just be fun and a lot of fun memories could be made from such an addition I think.

    If this feature can be implemented without sacrificing server performance, it will probably be a good thing.
