Quests selling wood, fruits, barrels, cannonballs are non-existant

Hello there!
I'm trying to complete the commendations about selling wood, fruits, barrels and cannonballs "in time" to the merchant alliance.
But I'm not really trying to complete, I'd say I'm trying to start the commendations. I've voted for about 50 merchant quests and had in total ONE barrel to sell. No mention about wood, fruits or cannonballs.
Am I doing something wrong or did someone forget about those items in the merchant quests ?
At this rate, I'll find the Shrouded Ghost before completing those rather simple quests.

Those quests can be found in barrels on islands and in barrels'o'plenty on the seas, bottles in the seas, beaches and shipwrecks.

Oh, they're far from being in abundance; I'd combine those with other activities - feels less as a chore then.

E.g. need fish for the Hunter's Call ? Get the fish from barrels and shipwrecks and grab every voyage you find.
Same goes for Reaper chests.

Barrels'o'Plenty are frequent to encounter again and as long as you're sailing around you come across those.
