Emissary Ledger

  • Noticed that less than 24 hours after the reset there are a lot of people in Merchants that are above 15 million.

And yes, it did reset, the last month was 60 million.

    How is that even possible?

  • Did the math, that is 10,000++ gold a minute, non-stop for 24 hours.

    How is that possible??

  • Yes I've noticed this trend as well. The first day ledgers are impossibly up. Does any have a idea on how this can happen? Maybe they could reset the servers at the beginning of the month. This seems to by an alliance server thing.

  • It has to be either a display problem in the UI or some kind of exploit.

I opened a ticket on it.

Emissary value is not representative of the actual value of the loot sold. For example, if you put up a merchant emissary and sell a crate of rare teas, regardless if at grade 1 or grade 5 you will get 1080 emissary value, which is less than max possible value at grade 5. But with ashes of the damned the emissary value is 3840, while the max gold value is 3500 at em5.

The wiki doesnt list emissary value on cargo items, so i cant be sure about those, but seeing as they are the quickest quests i can think of, if they give comparable emissary value to the crate of tea, that could stack up quickly, and ashen variants could possibly be much more.

  • @goldsmen Sure, but 10k per minute? Non-stop?

    It's a bad time to be a chicken :)

You could do it with a multiplier and a full alliance server doing nothing but Merch.

Someone here on the forums told me that in an Alliance only the crew of the ship, not the other ships, get emissary credit, is that not true?

It is, you only get a share of gold and reputation for what other crews turn in

Im not totally sure, dont know what the em rep is for every item, as well its hard to figure out the cargo rep without jumping in and testing it directly, but basic cargo runs are fast and give you quite a pile of stuff to ship, so depending on the rep you can get from cargo, that could be the reason for it. I almost never do merchant, but i know after just a couple cargo runs i found my self at 170k or something. If it was roar cargo im sure it would have been a lot more.

My understanding is you get a set amount of emissary rep. It doesn't (?) change across multipliers. Gold and Faction specific rep gets the multiplier. (Reapers getting the lion's share since it all counts)

Feel free to confirm or correct my formula

That is correct! The em rep doesnt change.

Full alliance server, rolling commodities and Manifests...

    Doable. I'm not completely insane.

You get a consistant emissary value for each loot piece turned in, but i cant say for sure if alliances count towards it since i dont alliance. Commodities however dont have any emissary rep tied to them for what ever strange reason.

Perhaps they spend the day before on collecting and stacking Merchant items with a full alliance server and have one crew turn in.

  • They don't reset servers so it's simply possible that people just stack prior to the start of the new ledger, then sell right after.
Most of the time, the top of the ladder is made of alliance server players. Don't take it too seriously.

This is contrary to what the Wiki says regarding Emissary Value and Emissary Grades.

The higher the Emissary Ship's Emissary Grade, the higher the Crew's Gold/Doubloon, Reputation and Emissary Value gains. The following table marks the Reward and Emissary Value multipliers by each Grade. When selling Treasure as a graded Emissary, Players will see the Gold or Doubloon bonus added behind the base value of each sold Treasure in the top right of the screen, along with a small icon of the Trading Company to mark the source of the bonus.

As far as I am aware, each item has a fixed Emissary Value but that value is multiplied by the Emissary Grade. I run "stealth Emissary" a lot when chilling (raising only when selling) and I've definitely noticed my Ledger value is slower to increase than if I was at a higher grade.

Theoretically, 600K an hour could be possible, but almost certainly only on Alliance servers running 24 hours non-stop.

That is very strange, i was sure it was a single static em value since on any given items wiki it only ever listed 1 set value. Thank you for the update on the info!

  • @realstyli hourglass with em grade 1 and em grade 5 was giving me the same ledger gain though.

The base is static... in that items that have a range of gold values (chests, skulls, crates, etc...) have a fixed base Emissary Value but that is still multiplied by the Emissary Grade.

This may be different because you're dealing with flags and not general loot, or it could be an oversight as HG is fairly new. I don't know for sure, and I don't do enough HG to really guess with any confidence.
