New characters can arrive on the seas as wanted pirates.
A new character shows up on the Sea Dogs Tavern docks who collects bounties, a bounty board can be found on every outpost.
Once you take on a bounty you will be directed to visit their last known location, once you arrive and if the bounty isn’t there you will need to search the island for clues to where they headed off to.
Once you find your target most of the time you will need to defeat their posse before the target reveals themselves, once defeating the bounty they will drop a random possession which can be taken to the bounty collector at the Sea Dogs Tavern and your reward can be collected.
This could be treated as a faction much like the hunters call, and we can unlock bounty Hunter clothing and weapons, some commendations will unlock even more prestigious bounty hunter cosmetics.
If Rare is feeling generous, they could introduce an honor system, good honor and bad honor, the more players you attack unprovoked the more bad honor you accumulate, the more players you help (Giving them treasure, defending them, working as a team) or completing bounties will accumulate good honor, you can voluntarily sign yourself up to be a bounty and the more bad honor you have the greater reward for the player who defeats you, but if you win the more bad honor you have provides greater rewards for you. Log books may be the item required to hand in to collect on player bounties but that is up for discussion.
Player bounties would obviously provide better payouts and reputation, and player bounties would be required for some commendations. I am not against the idea of players with bad honor automatically becoming wanted but I’ll let the community discuss that and decide.
