Add the ability to buy Plunder Pass levels

  • Im gonna be real with you i've been playing Zelda so i havent been catching up at all with my plunder pass. Please add the ability to buy levels like every other live service allows you to for people who play other games or are busy, thanks.

  • I have never seen a single other live service that allows you to just flat out buy season levels. As well it doesnt take much to level up in it, i have not played very much this season at all, and im almost maxed out on it already, its not that hard.

I dont think rare, or any other live service company, intends to add a system to make you have to play less to get the content.

  • No.
Your not entitled or forced to lvl the season quickly because you are busy playing other games.

Rare even posted on Twitter about understanding if we play tears :p

If you don’t reach 100, oh well. Not many do and it isn’t end of the world. Everything always “returns”

  • The levels go up super fast, if you don't play the game at all (Season 9 release date March 16 2023) why do you care about the plunder pass levels to begin with? You could literally get them in 1-2 days.

  • You still have plenty of time to complete the plunder pass. It's pretty easy to get to level 100 within just hours of playing the game. I reached level 100 after just a few less than 4 hour sessions.

This game's season pass mechanic is very forgiving to people who cannot play for hours upon hours of a single game.

  • Put Zelda down.

  • @goldsmen Fortnite, Halo Infinite, Bomberman (rip), Disney Speedstorm and many other live services let you do it and i dont see the harm in offering the option for people who have the money to do so but dont/cant play. But its ok if we spend our money on emporium cosmetics instead?

Ive been playing since launch but sometimes i just dont wanna play because either the season content doesnt interest me (like last season) or other games come out. I still push myself to finish each season except for season 1 which by the way items from that season still havent returned so all the posts about content returning is nebulous at best.

I avoid fortnite like the plague because every choice epic makes goes from bad to worse, so i dont think that is a good game to base other things off of. Im shocked halo does so, but any company that just lets you spend money for ranks shows they want your money over your enjoyment of the game, and i see such action as detestable.

Still this game has one of the easiest season passes to level up in the world, so if you cant take a little time away from a game with no time limited things to do something that is partly time limited, then you probably dont care for the rewards that much. If i have a game i can pause and return to later, and a game that has something you can only do in a set time frame with rewards i want, i will put the first game on hold.

  • @goldsmen To halo's credit it is the only live service to my knowledge that lets you buy a battle pass and keep it forever, even letting you swap back to older ones if you never completed them. Which would be another good quality of life change that Rare should take note of if they wont let you buy levels.

With the sot season pass, they have confirmed that every item not named after the season will return at a later date, while items with season name are intended to be a one time chance. So most of the things you miss can still be gotten later.

  • @goldsmen I dont see how that type of FOMO is somehow more consumer friendly than giving options like buying levels or permanent passes you can go back to and finish.

Like i get it everybody on this forum finishes the battle pass the day it comes out but even if i did that i would still want options because theres literally no downside outside of advocating for a company. People dont even do that with Halo despite how great its BP system is.

You are supposed to miss out on specific items, they are literally the reward for actually taking part in the game for that time, beyond that you should not get fomo over any of the other items since they are coming back. Again, if you can put a game on hold without missing anything in that, but another game has timed exclusives that you want, you can put zelda on hold.

It only takes a few hours to max out the pass on sot if you just do a few quests or world events. I have watched a friend max out a pass in a single day just playing casually, its an easier pass to complete than many other games considering it levels up when you do almost anything.

  • @xlrking

I did not know that about the Halo passes. I can level up my cat ears more.

Usually when I see pay to increase passes they're on notorious ptw services.

Plunder pass is fairly easy to upgrade. I find the game to be a chore so I play it a lot less than I did, but I can usually finish them in a month.

  • @grogheart casual pirate here with sea forts and shrines o knocked it out solo in a week maybe week and a half could have gone faster if I did world events during but I was being safe

  • Plunder pass in SOT, if we're comparing it to other games, is so quick to level up, you'll literally just be buying levels (not playing the game). In my opinion, there's no purpose in wasting money if you're not really playing the actual game.

  • I am not against buying plunder pass tiers though I’d never do it since it’s super easy to complete.

Some of the replies here don’t make any sense, “No other live service allows you to buy tiers” they really haven’t played any other game with a battle pass then.

  • Dude seasons in SOT run for 4 months and take 3 days of casual play to get to 100. More than enough time you'd just be wasting your money. There's still like 7 or 8 weeks of this season left.

  • @xlrking SoT season pass is the fastest past that i have ever seen in my entire gaming life, and i see the born of the battlepass from black ops 4, i know something about passes. the Sot one is fast like two rabbids while smash. you can litterally play one good placed session, completing the events that you find in the section "events" and do 3/4 of it

  • Items from the pass eventually get added to the Emporium or game itself. I would not mind having the option to buy pass levels, but it's dangerous game, because services usually make grind worse to exploit that as source of income.
