The ability to switch between Xbox Servers and PC Servers

    I would like the ability to switch between Xbox controller servers and PC servers while Diving during hourglass.

    Preferencing Xbox controller match making is always ideal; thanks to the massive gap in CQC. The imbalance is very clear once a PC player is aboard (and that’s a whole other kettle of fish Rare will hopefully address sometime).

    So my crewmate and I regularly start on Xbox servers. But they do tend to have a reduced player base (thanks partly to the constant, repeating message reminding us that there a more players on Pc servers - a self fulfilling prophecy that I wish Rare would remove).

    At a certain point in the evening. Opponents tend to completely dry up. And we can no longer continue our streak.
    We are forced to quit, start a new ship, new supplies, and of course, give up on our streak. And start battling PC players.
    Which is difficult. Because you can’t really board. But we still do okay. It’s just not as fun.

    The other annoying part is that sometimes PC servers are totally dead too. But we have no way of knowing that, without sacrificing all of our supplies.

    Anyway, I would love the option to change preferences while diving. We’re already server merging, hopefully this is doable.

    Would anyone else appreciate this feature?

    interesting

    it's often difficult as a pc player to gauge xbox activity/interest in things, not many do it on stream, so it's helpful to have threads like this end up on the forums

    @mostexpendable yes in theory this sounds interesting, likewise i tend to adventure on mixed and then also go xbox for hourglass. I suspect it wouldn't be simple though to move to a completely separate server.

    Bit like saying portal hop from na to eu servers etc. On our end it sounds convenient, not sure if doable or easy on theirs.

    Also just wondering whether abuseable, I don't think it is but then I do often note that the economy seems very different at times (feels like ridiculous supplies is more common on pc servers)

    @hiradc yeah, I know what you mean. But I don’t really think any abuse is possible I mean, it’s all SOT. You’re at risk everywhere the same amount.

    I wish we could server hop regions. I play on OCE servers. Which feel very restricted and localised these days.
    We used to come up against players from other countries. But now I only ever verse fellow Australians.

    And I’m not even sure I get verse Australians on the other side of the country. So our player base just feels tiny.

    But this is another issue I wish Rare would address.
    For now I just think it would be nice to be able to change preferences mid-game essentially.
    Anything to keep us in it.

    @mostexpendable makes more sense for your request then. Eu tends to have decent queues even in xbox only now

    As a sort of band-aid fix, this is a solid idea.

    I'd much rather they address the core reason that the segregation exists in the first place.

    Introduce a short range controller aim assist and just get rid of the matchmaking preferences.

    @sweetsandman literally any effort to address the massive disparity would be nice. But I’ll take a nice band-aide for now.
