How many players are skeletons?

  • I remember looking at Season 8's week one stat graphic and seeing that there were 247 ghost pirates to only 55 skeleton pirates. Of course, the imbalance with selling flags would've made getting to SotF 100 much harder in a week than otherwise. But it made me wonder: Now that Hourglass PvP has been around for a while and most veteran PvPers have their curse, how many decided to go with Flameheart? I think that the Ghost Curse

    • was more in demand before Season 8
    • allows you to equip all your old cosmetics
    • comes with a few more rewards
while skeleton players have to hope that Rare decides to support more skeleton cosmetics.

Merfolk's Lullaby Stats says that both companies have 15,650 cursed players - more of a sign that their numbers aren't accurate than anything.

What do y'all think the ratio of Ghost/Skeleton is? And can I hear from my fellow burglars in bones?

    Cheers!

  • My question is, How many of those people who got the curse were solo sloop.

i am guessing they are getting their numbers from the percentage of all players have gotten the achievement for getting hte curses.

Both are at 0.04% currently which would mean that they are somewhat close to eachother. however since it only goes down to 2 decimal points its not really a perfect measure of course

  • @grumpyw01f I have it. I don't use it. much like the ghost curse.

  • @callmebackdraft
I thought that since there are different commendations for getting either curse, the numbers shouldn't be the same. I didn't think about them having the same decimal number! That would also mean Merfolk's Lullaby somehow knows/thinks that there are 39,125,000 people who have SoT in their library.

  • I’ve been enjoying the journey from 100 to 200 as a skele. My crewmate and I have really “figured it out” and the cosmetics come at a really nice pace.

But boy I want more soon.

Personally my big want is Faction skeleton cosmetics. E.g. I want the merchant hat and vest for my skellie.

They already have a faction version of each skeleton hanging up in iron maidens in the reaper lair.

It’s such an investment to get there. I feel like at least one new skeleton body worth of cosmetics each season is a reasonable request.

    We’ll see…

  • I have them both. The hideout's was my main reason for reaching lvl 100 in both, the cosmetics was close 2nd. I love both cosmetics, the skeleton is more unique, and has more reasons to continue grinding the pain and tears of the hourglass. While the Athena one, had a better ceremony and looks way more prestigious.

Most importantly though, the reapers hideout is sadly a lot better than the Athena hideout addition. Nothing against reapers themselves, their hideout is fire! I'm just disappointed that I don't see the Athena hideout to be on par with the reapers. It's smaller and more restrictive, no way of teleporting to ship either.

I got the servants curse first since I was already pirate legend and had the Athena hideout unlocked. I had figured the hideout addition was more of the same, which I was right. I just didn't realize how much of an impression that ceremony would have on me, I keep re-activating it since I have so much fun with it. Reapers ceremony was never that great for me, maybe because it doesn't have enough singing or too much talking, or not enough fire magic being thrown around lol. Th servant/ reaper hideout takes the cake though, it is absolutely amazing to walk around in. I hope they add a roller coaster mine cart ride to it later on.

  • The answer may not be what you think.

You see, every player is a skeleton hiding in a meatsuit.
Well, every player except the Athena ghosts.

So to find the number of skeletons you actually have to subtract the number of ghosts from the total player count

    Exactly!

  • @scheneighnay

I often see my crew shed their meatsuits when returning from the ferry to don their illuminated green bone heads. Heard secret to keep, it seems!

  • @burnbacon I have both curses. Both obtained 90% with "dices of honor" only. Does it count? :D
