If you completed 2 events prior then you can easily earn 3 more points simply by completing the Sea Fort. I have completed them solo so you can too.

Completing the sea fort will earn you 3 points. You only need a total of 5 points to get the cannons

You need to get one goal for all 5 challenges, not 5 goals.

Actually it does. You only need one goal per 2-day list of challenges. The other two goals are effectively just for gold.

Rare is aware that not everyone can play this game every day. Why would they punish people by requiring one challenge every day?

Exactly, that's why people are annoyed by it.

I have 11 of the goals complete. Missed the last one on the first set and I haven't done the current set. The cannon are 4 of 5 now.

(I don't need any of these, just doing them for fun)

I just checked and sadly you are right.

I had all the rewards so I didn’t touch this event. I accidentally did 2 events in one day and didn’t even realize it. I’m actually 1 out of 5 despite having 2 events completed.

To be fair, I made the same assumption until I actually started doing the goals on the first day and read into it. It doesn't seem right to punish folk for not being able to do a set of goals that are limited to 48 hours, especially when they didn't give a proper heads up that the event was starting.

A lot of people missed the first challenges and I expect there will be a lot more complaints over the coming days when more people discover they couldn't get the cannons.

I completed the first set of challenges just by random encounters. I had no idea that the event was active until someone else said something.

They're effectively asking you to log in and do at most 30 minutes of activity for 5 out of 10 days.

My buddy logged in today, crashed into a sea fort as he jumped into it, got the reward and logged off...spent about 3 minutes of his time to get the final reward...I only point this out to drive home that they aren't asking much.

All that being said...

FOMO content is the pits.
Time limited content is the pits.

I'd much prefer they find a good way to bring everything back and do away with time limited stuff...But it feels like Rare is going to ride the time-limited train until the end.

Yeah, that one was especially likely to be done by accident. But still very RNG based, if you needed it. There was guarantee of quickly finding a skeleton ship or having one spawn on you.
