Order of Souls change

  • Let's talk about the Souls' Order. The trading company is like the middle child of all the the trading companies. Fortune of Athena has gotten more attention by their 'Legend of the Veil' voyage. The Hoarders of Gold have a litteral vault filled with chests. The Alliance of the Merchants have a voyage where you can reach grade 5 Merchant emissary with ease and an agenda to litteraly print money. Meanwhile with the Souls' Order: go hunt down some skeletons like it's day one of the Thieving Seas. Well yes, they have a ghost fleet contract, but it is not the best way to raise your emissary grade with the Souls' Order's emisarry flag. Where they do and should shine in however is (and call me crazy all you want), world events. Like come on, litteraly every world event is about killing the undead. So surely they get a boost from that, right? Well, besides of getting more progress on your emissary when killing the skeleton captains and the skeleton lord of an active fort, not much. I know that Phuzzybond has posted a video about leveling your Souls' Order emisarry flag quick and easy, but the company needs a bit more attention. The only thing Rare added to the Souls' Order was the ghost fleet contract, their emissary, emissary quest and... that's it. What should happen is that the emissary of the company should get a bigger boost for completing a world event revolving around the undead, a bigger bonus than the other emissaries. This will destroy the feeling of: "It's been 2 hours, why am i still at grade 4?" To be honest, it is quite self explanatory why there isn't a new Souls' Order feature in... who knows how long. What else is there that to add to the Souls' Order? They are already hunting down every undead enemy in the game via their voyages. What else is there to add? If there were something else to add, then it should be some sort of boss hunt. Like the voyages we get where we hunt down the skeleton lords (don't know what it was called then). But other than that, it will take a while to come up with a new Souls' Order voyage. They should get a bit more attention at least for people to use their emissary flag of the company instead of using it to get cosmetics in the ledger. Because a lot of people use the Bones of the Reapers emissary flag for every world event while they were meant for PvP. Listen, i am not saying that increasing the grade on your Reaper emissary via world events should be illegal, but i am tired of keep chasing Reaper emissaries whenever i roll up on them when they are done with a world event, while being clearly marked on the map for combat. To summarise it, the Soul's Order needs more attention if we want to keep them 'alive', so to speak.
Thank you for your attention reading this.
I wish you a great time on the seas. Adieu.

    With friendliest reggards
    Captain Sif

I say that is for Merchant

they have a ghost fleet contract, but it is not the best way to raise your emissary grade with the Souls' Order's emisarry flag

Really? The loot I got from the fleet got me up to grade 5

Where they do and should shine in however is (and call me crazy all you want), world events.

Ha so they do have a better place compared to the others. GH have vaults, Athena has Veil, Reaper has everything, Merch has 2 voyage runs. Souls has every World Event.

"It's been 2 hours, why am i still at grade 4?"

Either your doing some low lvl voyages or not killing enough skeleton captains. Heck you can do the Fortresses and collect the skulls there.

Realy? Because i never got more then grade 3. Even if it's one with the Burning Blade. Even 2 fleet voyages doesn't give you 5 yet, you still need to go sink a skelly ship to get there.

  • No complaints about factions being left out as long as the Hunter's Call still exist 🤣

  • Seems to me like there's not enough disparity between rewards for boss skeletons.

Skeleton captain roaming the beach? Villainous bounty skull.
The mutinous helmsman midway through a fort of fortune? Villainous bounty skull.

Harder bosses should produce better skulls.
Could produce some more interesting gameplay too if you have something on your ship that's worth stealing before the world event finishes.

  • @super87ghost he got confused.

Ghost fleet voyage and world event fleet are completely different encounters.

I'd love a new voyage type for OoS, something as simple as it could be hunting down skelly sloops/galleons

"Skeleton sloop seen patrolling the waters west of Wanderers Refuge"

You sail there and boom, sloop surfaces and you fight, with the loot dropped being mostly OoS items

All the other factions have 3 voyage types, OoS needs an update!

  • Several days ago I have posted a Topic called:"Ghost Island Voyage". It is voyage for Order of Souls, which will brings you to Grade/Tier V of your emissary flag. If you are interested, have a look. I also added there a list of commendation and rewards as reply to it.

  • @alphagamer22272

OoS is the least profitable company.

But one of the simpler to level if you island hop. Throw down a voyage and stop at every island in between, take our spawned skelly ships. Basic skelly hunts should be getting level 5 without annoying tell all beacons, leaving your ship unattended, or time consuming loot transfers.

  • I want a new Oos voyage so bad. Something divided in modules like legend of the veil, where you have to investigate catacombs, hidden diaries, corpse remains and arcane artifacts while looking for dark relics. It would be so cool. I also liked a lot the simple concept of old halloween bilge rat adventures, where you had to investigate the fate of disapperared bilge rats, collect flames of fate and then face ritualists skellies attempting to summon the ghost of graymarrow. It was something simple and reskinned, but I really liked the formula of "Supernatural Detectives".

  • Even conquering the Sea Forts could be OoS voyage. Sight tweaking to the loot rewarded and a special item that is desired by the OoS faction representatives

    Something!

  • @paparug420 agreed somehting like sea fort for oos would be a massive qol improvment for the order

  • @burnbacon
Aye, you madr some good arguments. This is just from my experience. I know that what i said where the company should shine sounds ridiculous, but they contain undead enemies, so it would make sense.

  • @paparug420
What a great idea! You should make a post about it!

  • @selgewick
I will take note of this, fellow pirate. Many thanks!

  • @super87ghost
Aye, i get this situation. The ghost fleet contracts are (in my opinion) more of a headstart than a way to reach emissary grade 5. Glad someone else gets this sort of thing as well!

  • So the way to get the ghost fleet voyage to level you up better is to take out every single ship other than the boss and collect the loot before doing the boss. Most people go for quick completion and hunt the boss and unload into him. Even with this method of killing them all, best I’ve gotten from a single ghost fleet voyage was just over grade 4. So it definitely needs a tweak as the premium company voyages(lost shipments, vaults, ghost fleets) should all get you to 5 in one voyage.

I do agree OOS could use a little tweaking and I loved the other poster’s thread with the idea of a spawnable skeleton lord-esque battle. It’s nice that the captaincy voyages helped a lot with the tedium of normal bounty quests. But I’d still like to see some tweaks.

We did OOS yesterday because a friend was working on PL and was 45 in OOS. We did the grind for 6 hours and turned in during gold rush and he was 55 after that O.O We used the captaincy bounty quests and stopping at a shrine where we had 2 of the same bottle quests for to get to 5, then claimed emissary, lowered and raised the flag, and just did the emissary quest grind the rest of the time. So OOS can be quite profitable if you know what method to use, but it isn’t necessarily fun as you end up just sailing from island to island to kill a few captains and repeat.

I do love the captaincy mercenary voyages that they added where it’s a little of each core company. But if you’re trying to work on one specific company they aren’t as helpful.
