PSA: Season 9

    When Sea of Thieves Season Nine begins
    I would like to inform EVERYONE who still has yet to learn what happens during these times.

    • March 16th is when the Update hits
    • The servers will/may not always be in the best state. Due to everyone login and all the extra players
    • Some rewards may not be given
    • Gold cashin wont accept
    • Buying items or loading shops will fail
    • Glitches, Bugs and crashes are not unheard of and expected.
    • Hourglass not working for whatever reason
    • "The chest of fortune and skull of destiny" are Perm addons. Much like every other QOL addon, they are not going anywhere.
    • FOTD is gonna be broken. Admit it. With so many people rushing to do it and chop up on on loot and mass spawning skeletons over and overs.

    So please, don't be flooding the forums announcing how the game is doing most of these expected things. Do a search for someone who already experienced what you have and contribute to just one post.
    Just because things aren't working now, doesn't mean later they wont be fixed or cooled off. Or possibly delayed

    Try to enjoy the new Season, new features, tasks and Season renown adventures. Be kind to your fellow pirates by stealing there gold/Loot. (and if you must, discuss all the changes you liked or disliked) but dont be bent out of shape how "again" the game isn't working right after a new season update.... Especially on D1

    We love this game, but give it time, we're gonna have 3/4 months to get what we want from the season. So chill out, login later on in the day, and enjoy!

    Considering the changes made season 8 did pretty well with being implemented. That main issues were related to design of content not the development of the content and the time it takes to make the necessary changes.

    There are a lot of not receiving rewards issues still but that is more of an ongoing issue.

    I doubt they will have as many issue related to server overload, 9 isn't likely to drive those kind of numbers and they have improved a lot in how they handle the activity. The ancient skelly day might see it but it mostly worked ok last time.

    Widespread gold issues have been less common, they had a real issue with that for a while but it works better now

    as far as people posting on the forums go that doesn't bother me. People post and then we post, it's all repetitive anyway it doesn't change much imo to have some new people throw around some posts. I like seeing some new activity.

    This is why we have things called Mega Threads, they are useful to consolidate multiple posts with the same issue and topic when started around the same time. But yes a general reminder before a Season releases is a good idea for those that are willing to pay attention even if they don't post a reply.

    I would also like to tag on the added fact. After the season launches, the chest of fortune and skull of destiny that they showcased as main content for the season will more than likely stay in the game after the season ends.

    I add this because every season people ask "is this main feature going to be removed when the season ends?" To which the answer has every time so far been, no, it has always stayed.

    The most frustrating part is that even with any warnings given before hand about anything that is to be expected in a season, even if it is front page, people will still continue to ask.
