I’m not mad about what we’re getting, I’m just disappointed… lol. This update is essentially just a big quality of life overhaul, but there’s almost nothing actually new.
- The new pirate legend voyages seems to be the same kind of voyages we’ve been doing for years. Additionally one quality of life change i think is absolutely necessary is allowing captain voyages to count towards commendations. This is one of the main reasons I haven’t touched captain voyages since they released, they don’t count towards any commendations for any trading company, to me, that’s unrewarding.
- This new world event seems to be just a Flameheart reskin. Although I miss Flameheart, his iconic world event is irreplaceable, nothing can replace getting yelled at by him for a solid 30 minutes straight.
- I feel as if there should be a punishment tied to buying a skull of destiny voyage. You’re essentially buying your way to the Fort of the Damned. Whereas someone who doesn’t have the doubloons or doesn’t want to spend the money has to collect all flames of fate and either find or buy a ritual skull (which can only be done once per update). The punishment can be maybe lower tier loot. Nothing crazy.
- I appreciate a new piece of loot, but all we’re going to do to fix Forts of Fortune is by adding a chest… really?
- Hunter’s call… I feel like that’s enough said. Convenience and a bait box are nice, but the Hunter’s call is and has been in desperate need of an actual update, this does not meet standards. Hunter’s call hasn’t felt like the rest of the other trading companies since release, and it still doesn’t.
- As far as the rest of the small tweaks, I’m fine with most of them but two stick out to me. Like somebody else said on here, I may be the 1% who doesn’t like the harpoon change. Harpooning loot to then grab it is tedious, but it should stay that way. In fact, I think it almost serves as punishment for harpooning. Additionally I think it will only encourage running, which is what the red sea change hopes to alleviate, seems counterintuitive.
As an update, it’s fine but as the 5th anniversary update, it’s underwhelming.
