The Sovereigns And Sea Dog Tavern

  • As it stands, the Sea Dog Tavern, smack in the middle of the map, is essentially pointless. There is a random shipwright there, a few barrels, an obstacle course. And that's it.

    Well heres an idea.

The Sovereigns with their overflowing wealth have PURCHASED the location, and have set up shop. They've repurposed the area and you can now sell there.

But why would I want too?

Because the sovereigns outpost AT sea dog tavern, loot sells for 1.5x is value.

The location is precariously close to the reapers hide out, and being in the middle of the map, you'd be very visible to any other ships.

To offset these risks, the rewards are increased. Thoughts?

  • @paparug420 not sure lore wise the sovereigns would be down to have their main selling point be right next to Reapers when they're not fans of them, as per the text chat from the npcs'.

  • @paparug420 Purchase from who? Demarco is dead, Amaranta is an outlaw, and Laseti is... well we don't really know what she's been up to lately that I recall. The Sovereigns could just roll a few galleons on up and say, "this is ours now. Bring it on." This is a pirate game... 😉

  • I want something done with Sea Dogs Tavern, and it’s an intriguing idea of giving it to the Sovereigns/GMU, lore wise.

But as a sell point, that’s not a particularly interesting ideas.
Being near reapers doesn’t make it anymore risky really. If anything, it just provides yet another convenient sell point if you do see a reaper nearby. Thereby making you safer.

    Way too convenient I say.

  • tear it down

  • It's going to be used for Flamehearts return is my guess. It's an archway and the 6 forts we claimed in the adventure all intersect through the arena tavern.

  • @paparug420 I'd personally love to see the tavern revamped as player housing of some sort, somewhere to launch my ship out of a waterfall, they need to add a waterfall.

Glitterbeard makes me want to own a section of the SoT, even if it sounds ridiculous from a gameplay perspective.

But I need some more content before we even get close, so wouldn't want to see it for another couple of seasons.

  • You had me until the gold buff.

I'd love to see the Sovereigns removed from regular outposts (clearly the regular inhabitants don't feel good about their presence anyways)...and then have the Sovereigns take over the Glorious Sea Dog Tavern and have that be the all-in-one turn in spot for non-Reaper Emissaries.

  • Or just open it up, as it was in the Arena lobby, to serve as a monument to a part of SoT that no longer exists. It would really be a shame to let such a cosy and well designed place go to waste.
New players can and will ask what it is and the old seadogs can tell them stories about what it was about a long time ago. The good things and the bad things. Its part of SoT history, and needs to be protected.
