I have spent the last hour cycling pirates for a new appearance. I know what I'm looking for, and it's just a matter of the game actually giving it to me. I understand not wanting to make a character creator. My suggestion is just that when you favorite a character it takes gender into account. And also each new generated pirate shares one or more trait from the favorited. Allowing us to fine tune while not completely destroying the system in place.
Favoriting a pirate while in creation should result in similar pirates in the next cycle.
@hiradc personally I define similar just to traits like eyes, mouth, nose, head shape, skin tone, body shape, scars, age, etc. It will still be completely random in a sense that you can't pick specific. But if you favorite one pirate for example. Each pirate generated would have atleast one similar trait(the similar traits are random for each one) or more. More being what your probably chasing with slight changes. But that small chance increase(of getting multiple similarities) would make a world of difference. I'm also tired of cycling and half of them being male when I'm know for certain I'm not going to pick male.
As of right now, favoriting is really only slimming the chances of getting the pirate you actually want. Because if you really wanted the one you favorited you would just choose it.

" I'm also tired of cycling and half of them being male when I'm know for certain I'm not going to pick male." Same. I will not choose a male pirate. Nor will I choose a dark skinned pirate because it feels to close to "blackface" for me, an extremely pale skinned person (just a personal preference not saying anything against people who play as other races/ethnicities).As we do not permit thread necro as per our forum rules, we will go ahead and drop anchor on this thread here. Thank you.
