After 5 hours of playing as reapers hourglass PvP this morning, my friend and I were only matchmaking against other reapers. I am fine with this since queue times are going down, but if those same ships were athenas, we would have had close to a level or two in allegiance.
Make it so you get allegiance for turning in same factions emissary flag.

We're not choosing to fight same faction
I just want to emphasize this. We are punished for something we don't have control over, and this is irritating.
This is turning off a lot of players who don't run the hourglass because of the glory, but rather just to do the commendations and be done with it.
Not only is this unfair (some will encounter more same faction fights than others), it also makes some commendations more difficult to achieve : Take for example the one where you have to be grade V of your faction while sinking opposing ships. Well, that basically say "sink 3+ ships in a row", since the first 2 sinks will get you to grade V (now admittedly we could get there by other means but c'mon...).
Let's now imagine the 3rd ship you encounter is the same faction as you.... you see the problem ?
