How to report players with a hidden nametag?

  • First off, sorry if this isn't the appropriate channel to ask this in, but I looked for FAQ or just question sections and the forum search found nothing.
I also didn't come up with any answer on google at all. So I will have to ask myself.

There is a feature for streamers to hide their nametags and make them into generic piraty names right?
I have not run into this issue as of yet, but since I PvP a lot, I also meet a lot of very toxic people that shout all sorts of insults when they sink.
So I make sure to use the xbox app function to record the last 30 seconds so I can report them.
But now my question is, what if someone with those hidden nametag does something that they should be reported for?
If I ever run into that scenario, how would I report them if I can't get their actual nametag?

  • The feature that hides nametags only works for the person that had the feature enabled. Everyone else sees the actual tag unless they also have the feature enabled.

  • just make sure you catch their name and text/speech bubble in the clips if you are reporting rule violations

to accurately enforce they will need to be sure about who said what, as already posted you won't have issues seeing their names as long as you don't have streamer names on yourself

  • On Xbox or the Xbox Game Bar app on PC, there should be a place for who to see you have “recently played with.” I find that list constantly updates, including players I’m fighting against in SoT. You can potentially use that.
