Do ''stamps'' die out after a while or do they get replaced with new crews?

  • So ever since they explained how matchmaking worked, it makes a lot more sense.

However my question is we steam rolled a few crews (Some games we went up against the same crew 2/3 times).

Now the queue times are very long (10+ mins) even if it says its under 1 minute of waiting or jumps to 2-4 mins. In the waiting ''lobby'' it was 20 mins before we decided to call it quits.

We also keep in contact with other sweaty gally crews that are playing at the same time, and they have fast queue times playing on the same ship size/faction and similar high MMR levels.

So it begs the question, do match making queues (stamps) get filled back in when crews leave after their session? or is it better to just start a new server completely to get into a new stamp? Read that they cannot merge stamps together so?

  • @ix-indi-xi We're not playing at the same level than you but when we face longer queue times (usually after waiting for 20 min), we switch server and it's often faster to find a match at first.

    So I would recommend it.

That being said, it seems that our stamps die rather quickly, and we often have to restart every 3 to 4 matches. So maybe this method has a drawback I don't understand yet.

Yeh we switch factions once we rinse out wins on one, then do the same on the other faction, ( we also found out estimated wait time is not at all accurate, so we never rely on that anymore)
then we either find another server or VPN to another region depending on time of day/night.

I think the biggest draw back for long Queue times is the ability (Or none in this case) of merging different servers/stamps together!

  • @ix-indi-xi I can tell you with certainty that new cres can get placed on the same stamp as the one you are on. But I have no idea of the ammount of instances being run on a stamp. It's atleast 3.

I've been trying to figure stuff out im this regards for the last two weeks. It seems that if you have 2 instances with identical queue times, they might be on the same stamp. ie. Guardians are 6-10 and Servants are less than 1. if you have crews on different galleons and those are the times, it might be the same stamp.

Also it seems rhat queue times are based on the average for that crew configuration, not configuration+elo. So galleon 6-10 is all galleons, not just your skill level.

If both clocks say 2-4, ive also discovered it might just be dead as one side should be faster than the other.
