A Burning Blade Ship Set under the Servants of Flame

  • I got curious so had a look at the rewards available to both of the Allegiance Factions.

Guardians of Fortune gain access to 2 new Ship Sets, 2 new clothing sets, a new weapon set, 3 curses and some figureheads

The Servants of the Flame gain access to 1 Customisable curse, some figureheads, some statues and...... well that's really it.

This got me thinking that maybe Servants should have an equivalent to what the Guardians got with the Magpie's Wing Ship set, a set completed from a piece we already had. Perhaps the Servants should gain access to the rest of the Burning Blade set, since this is a cosmetic we already have a piece of, but no set to go with it. And realistically, this is definitely not going to throw out the balance of cosmetics between factions. But it'd be good to have one more reason to sail for the Servants.

  • @neolux13 They should renovate hideout reapers, there is enough space on the islands for more construction.

  • @lleorb Yeah there are like 2 other islands in the hideout to add buildings to

  • I am surprised the Servants don't at least have a ship set but to be fair the ledger rewards for reapers are rather cool compared to the athena ledger reward which is just a recolor of the ghost hull. And one of the guardian ship sets is just a 3rd recoloring of the ghost ship set so not new...... not even good. Magpies wing set the figurehead is the only thing that looks unique the rest isn't special at all. Similarly the guardians new clothing set is just another recolor. Not sure how different it looks with the ghost curse applied perhaps it looks really good when wearing the ghost curse but it's a bad recolor of the original. Not sure what the 2nd new clothing set you are mentioning is? Unless you are counting the recolored equipment set as a 2nd clothing set? I am pretty unimpressed with the guardian rewards other than the curse and figure heads. However agree 100% the reaper side seems even worse. Though the skeleton is customizable you can just buy a cool looking skeleton model from the cash shop and throw on the ghost curse and boom. Cool looking skeleton who is also a ghost.

Hopefully they will expand on the cosmetic rewards but... If we are being real they don't have a good track record of doing this. They usually only give us new cosmetics when they add new levels to farm so I don't think we will see more cosmetics for either faction unless they raise the level caps to 2000 and for most people, myself included I don't see the point in even trying for 1000 let alone higher if they ever expand on it. They made the same mistake as arena. Didn't put enough cosmetic reward tiers into the system. Killing it before it even got going. If they actually looked at why people lost interest in arena instead of just "well no one plays anymore, lets just delete it" Then history is repeating itself with this mode.

Though with this mode being tied to adventure hopefully it can grow and become what it should be. Sadly they have a lot of work ahead of them to get the player experience of the mode feeling better with match making etc. So they probably aren't even thinking about the reward structure and how to improve on that. Though a lot of these cosmetic unlocks are through commendations rather than rep levels so I guess they could add more PvE to farm to unlock stuff. Though the whole point of reapers is PvPing so having stuff locked behind PvE already probably is annoying some people.

  • @magus104 The 2nd clothing set I'm referring to is the Mysterious Stranger Set.

Yes those are recolors of currently existing sets, but if we start discounting recolored sets, the game falls apart here.

I think both sides have decent rewards curse wise, just the servants seem to have very little compared to the Guardians.

The reason I am putting this idea out there is to give Rare an idea of a set they could add for between 1-200 for the servants. It doesn't even need to be a flashy, red-and-black, i-glow-in-the-dark set. Just basic things. Most pirates after a certain point just want there ships to look nice, rather than Otherworldly.

I hate to say it man, but Reapers is just PvE at this point. The only PvP focused factions are the Servants and the Guardians. Yes the Servants and Reapers go hand in hand, but 75% of crews that raise Reaper are there to PvE.

Also I would much rather get the customisable skeleton model than the Walmart version. Granted I'm a while off, but it gives me something to grind for in the game, something I haven't had for a while.
