Getting out of bonds without xp.

  • I know that it is like 2137 post like this but Rare pleace don't act like it isn't a problem.
I got nice, long fight (too long but still nice) but it ended with me being board and being sailed out of bonds meaning i got nothing for more than 30 min fight.

I know that you want to prevent folks from cheesing to 105 lvl by just loosing but it's riddiculus! If somebody want to waste most of his playtime in that way, let them it's mean near nothing to pirates that try to enjoy new pvp system.

Right now im feeling discuraged to fight antoher fight after match like this and as spawncamp and sailing out is viable tactic in solo sloop world (it's understandble when that ships easly take tons of damg) but no rep gain scare folks away. As we have allready slow matchmaking.

Personaly as 30 years old guy runing small company i don't have much time to spend it for gaming. And SoT is allmost only one that im retruning to up from technical alpha.

For me its ok to loose but plesce just don't cheat me out of my time. It's really frustrating feeling.

I would add a little bit more xp per lose to keep folks playing. Making this mode hardcore will make it dead in few months.

  • absolutely the same

  • Sorry for all misspells and errors i was pretty angry that few minutes ago and i can't even find edit button.

  • @ghutar Everything is OK!

  • @ghutar said in Getting out of bonds without xp.:

It's the ship wheel on the bottom right to edit.

But in regards to the amount of XP you get per loss is just fine, 560 xp. The amount you get from winning is 4200 on first win though. 7.5 times more.

Get run out ...0. Meanwhile sinking which is faster if you plan on that route is faster and gets you 560 xp. Should still give you a bit if someone wants to go that path I agree.

  • @mouse-n-keybord i would agree that XP gain is only if you want passively chees your way up to 105 (as i red your's topic i know you did that, tool not rules in best fashion) but if you invested time and effort into fight it's kinda to small amout.

I will give an example why i think that:

    • If i wanted to grind my way up to 105. Not to enjoy pvp, improve my skills, no immersion pure gain then i should play each fight with timer set to 10 minutes and snooze for 5.
If i can't win in given time i would sunk my own ship. Yey semi fast xp.

But where is that honour in fight that devs metioned in deep dive, what kind of exprienece to enjoy it?

From my side i try figth to win, after i leraned that out of bonds give no xp i resort to figth without that tactic.

I have 29 rank in GoA like 49% wins and 51% looses - with cosiderble amout of them are out of bonds.

Im not complainging about grind i understand that they want to make it something. Like pirate legend in 2018 when we was cheesing golden pigs on crooked mast.

But in that shape of season and servers (i got yesterday a bucket reg.. bucket reg!), without eny rewards trough you jurney up to 105 its gives sometimes unfair and frustrating expirence - changing that would help keep folks playing that mode couse idea is brilliant.

  • @ghutar I'm sitting at 130 with most the cosmetics for skeleton unlocked already and 85 with Guardians.

They want you to try but completely losing your way to 100+ is possible but not advisable. It was just an experiment. I had fun still belive it or not talking to others vs fighting for 45 minutes.

The game isn't always a double gun get sunk gg thing for me. I enjoy it as a sandbox.

In over 700 losses I got taken out of bounds only 4 times. It's a waste of time for everyone involved if giving free wins and I think most recognized that.

I agree that trying to get better is a good option to just play the mode while solo slooping but find it boring. I enjoy interacting and team play if I'm going to try anything.
