So unpopular friggin opinion, but the new On Demand PvP has some severe flaws, even for a decently good PvPer like me who battles on and off my ship. The new PvP system has severe flaws. It incentivizes cheap one sided fights where ship camping basically wins you every fight and the one to ship camp first basically wins without any form of contest being far the biggest. I've grown into a good pirate and PvPer but this doesn't feel like fighting other players. It feels like sweat lords and try hards just wanting to steamroll other player into the ground and drive them off the game for good. I've played this game for hundreds of hours to get good at PvP and I wanted something like this. All i basically see is people camping ships for a no contest win, and camping the same section of sea for hours on end and farming the hell out of people with 0 consequence and ramification.
I tried this just once and I despise it because all I get are people with no PvP ettiqute and everyone just wanting to steamroll every player they fight. " Oh but you can just scuttle your ship if you're not winning." No that isn't a solution," Oh get good scrub, get better at the PvP." Not an excuse for basically any of this. If every PvP match is purely one sided and one crew can't fight back, where's the actual fight? As an experienced player whose had years on this game I actively want to avoid the PvP if people constantly camp your ship or farm one area of the seas just sitting in one place for to farm and famr and farm. I actually want to have a sea fight I enjoy. Every match up so far has basically been basically, haha I slam my boat into yours and camp your ship and not let you play the game or have a fair fight or even fight back. I might just be seen as complaining, but honestly I just want an actual fight instead of a steamroll to enjoy, and not a 0 rules or consequences system. These are just my opinions and current frustrations, because I love the game. I crave an actual battle and not a complete one sided stomp, I am already frustrated with this as it really kills any of the experience I can have with it and I want to actively avoid it.
