I've seen posts claiming 30+ minute wait times in the tunnel. I have been in one for about 5 minutes now. Defenders are out there working on milestones while invaders are gaining nothing in this down time. Not sure how you would want to calculate it or even if you could easily do something like this but maybe look at how long it takes to sail 1 mile on the normal map and have a counter running in the tunnel that will calculate out some number to give us.
Waiting room tunnel should count toward miles sailed.
If the portals give us mileage it should be implemented here too. The time's I've been in the tunnel I haven't checked to see if I can spam any milestones like grogs poured/sleeping/eating. Maybe do those instead?
@magus104 Probably hard to do since your ship is probably not moving while in the tunnel, it is just endlessly spawning stuff that passes you on a conveyor belt.
