@gracie-grog6769 said in Big Update Coming, But !! What About Hackers !!!!!!!!!!:
Most of these threads just get derailed by no evidence comments of 'I have played for 8 billion hours' and never seen a hacker posts.
It never occurs to them that its possible that you are so used to seeing cheating its become a normal function of the game.
As others have stated its probably a lot more than ot already seems as subtle cheating is a lot easier to hide than some dude jumping on your boat and deleting 60 fruit items in a second.
I'm sorry, but without clear evidence (that probably should be sent in to SoT Support and not posted on the forums), it's hard to believe a Seafarer in which their first post to the forums is the same, exact, mantra of "there are cheaters in SoT, Rare do something about it pls!" Most of the time, it's just skill issue, other times, it's this game bugging out and letting players do really dumb things or cause them to, for no reason, and without warning, not take damage, not heal them when they wait through the full eating animation, or misplace them mid-fight, or any other dumb reason one would believe the other enemy is "hacking".
I'm not going to deny this stuff exists, but I am going to deny posts that say hacking is running rampant when in reality: you're not as good at the game as you think you are. People can do legitimate things in this game that aren't unintended exploits (that would eventually get removed, such as wallbanging, bucket/shovel animation cancelling), and beat those players because of stronger game knowledge and experimentation. Trying to condemn long time players for not coming across these "hackers" and denying your claims when their identity isn't on the level of one of the game's partnered/most popular content creators is very short-sighted, especially when their position in recognize-ability is about the same as yours.
