What are the rules on playing audio through my mic?

  • I think it would be funny to play the freebird guitar solo while blasting someone's boat. I also dont want to give salty people a chance to get me muted. so does this game have rules against -debatably- tasteful music?

  • I wouldn't just blast music out there.

Not because I have any issue with it ( I don't) but a lot of the players left in the game are streaming these days and they might get all fussy about it which might catch you some drama, and in general this community is report heavy.

It's just asking for drama imo even if it goes smooth once or twice.

Unless you see me out there, I'm down for it.

  • @wolfmanbush aight so only to consenting parties.

I think that's the way to go. Read the room, if it's a chill crowd have some fun.

With random people in random scenarios imo it's best to be considerate and also just watch out for yourself to avoid negative stuff. Even if it's for fun/lols

  • You should always blast Ride of the Valkyries when rolling up on people. As their ship burns and sinks you should also say over the speaking trumpet. I love the Smell of
Burnt Wood in the Morning, Smells like Victory!

  • Wacky Sax while chasing/running Running Reaper should be allowed...

  • @pithyrumble Benny Hill theme works better.

    That is...

  • @pithyrumble What is? Wacky Sax? I've never heard it referred to as that if so.

  • Nobody likes that. One of the most irritating things in gaming is some random kid blasting music in your party. Instantly gets muted by everyone and usually teamkilled or something similar.

It’s the gaming version of playing music on your phone on the bus without headphones.

  • Yeah, I'm thinking it is not a great idea. If you are with your regular crew and you all decide that while doing PvE stuff you want some background music like that, that's up to you. But when interacting with other crews, especially during a fight or something, that will probably just set some people off. And with the leaks of a potential in-game reporting system, reporting players will be easier than ever before, so unnecessarily creating a bigger target on your back for reporting will probably be unadvised.

Also it's just kind of a Richard move, you know? For some crews/players being in combat is already a stressful situation, no need to compound that. Basically the same as if you just started screaming through your mic when attacking, which is annoying A F.

  • Plus, most people wouldn’t even hear it thankfully, as usually everyone is in their own Party Chat, instead of using the in game chat.

  • @shostakovich274 There be no rules. And as someone who truly doesnt care if you do a little bit of trolling. Use wisely and dont say anything truthfully toxic and you wont see any issue other than a few salties on the seas.

  • @peteloaf777 ah an issue, pc lads can still hear it XD

  • @weststormborn thanks for actually answering the question. Its time for a minuscule amount of chicanery.

  • Insta-mute immediately the player blasting music in ANY game. There is no point in it, and not everyone wants or likes it. The ingame audio chat is meant for communication and not annoying others with music they might not like.

Blasting music is an effective way to shut oneself out of the ingame communication by most other players. But if that is your thing... go for it i guess. No rule against it, but dont be surprised if no one talks/replies to you after that.
