"Catering to them too much" by doing an idea that you think is good for everyone, which isn't specific to LGBTQ+ community, because they also mentioned LGBTQ+? Actually didn't even really mention that, just said "also inclusive for players that have dissonance with their identities".
"Won't someone please think of the straights?!" Like, come on. Focusing on LGBTQ+ doesn't mean that other people don't deal with stuff. It just really means that in general very rarely do people deal with anything for being straight. I won't say never, because sometimes weird stuff happens, however pretty much since the dawn of humanity there has never been an active societal persecution of people for being straight. Issues that people who are straight might deal with are depression, poverty, discrimination based on disability, societal pressure to be tall or pretty or handsome or fit or thin or whatever, cultural pressures, etc etc etc. But what do we do with those issues? We focus on those issues individually because people who are experiencing them require help with those particular issues.
Biblically there's the story of the 100 sheep and the Lord goes to rescue the 1 who has strayed away from the herd. Returning it's asked does he love the other 99 sheep less because he focused attention on the 1? NO! He focused on the one because it was in danger. And while things have gotten better for LGBTQ+ people in my home country of the U.S. for the most part, that's not true everywhere and not even true throughout my entire country. So we can address certain things towards the LGBTQ+ community because they need protecting, they need validation (not validation as to that individuals require people to validate them, but that the community needs to be shown to be valid by influential things like corporations, governments, etc to say "yes, you exist and are valid"). Do straight people face things that put them in danger? YES. But not for being straight (in general, I know there are probably fringe cases, but we are talking societally). So we focus on the issues that put people in danger; physically, emotionally, societally. If we do things that are meant to uplift people in poverty, is it fair for people making $200,000 a year to say "Hey, what about us! Shouldn't we get something?" Not really, because they aren't experiencing the ill-effects of poverty. If a building puts a ramp in for people who use wheelchairs, do the walking people say "Hey, what about something for me! I deserve something too!" NO! Because they aren't in need of any aid in accessing the building (again, generally). It's about equity and protecting those and aiding those who need help for the thing that they need help with.
If you think LGBTQ+ people are being "catered to" too much, do some good honest research (not Infowars or Steven Crowder or that hack Jordan Peterson). You'll soon see from actual reputable research that there are still many dangers that come just from being part of the LGBTQ+ community that are simply not part of everyday life for the "straights". And maybe you won't feel so "left out" when someone does something for a marginalized group.
Dissonance with their identity is part of the LGTBQ+,and ive never said dont cater for them at all, but constantly treat them like they have rabies is absurd.
And who are we convincing not to bully them? People in this forum? Dont try to convince the convinced, bully them is bad but you dont see it here, and then you do its being dealt with. So enough.
You got it all wrong, my resolve is not to just cater to everyone else and their own issues, is about understanding that were all dealing with something, and being here enjoying the community and the game is a good thing we should focus about.
And im sorry but no, people dont need to be validated 24/7, if they know who they are they should feel proud and move on.
Not sure I know half of the names that youve named but rest assure that my info dosent come out of a hat, I dont take sides and im not American as youve probably assumed.
