I'm sure there are some pirates who enjoy sitting on the side of their ship or on the map table. I'd at least like the option to disable this mechanic.
Option to disable Sit Down

I will never know how people accidentally sit in locations.
It's because they're not deliberately thinking about what they're doing or haven't yet trained their fingers/hands.
Ever since I accidentally sat down on the back of a sloop when trying to repair a hole, I have been exactly that - deliberate, cautious, and thoughtful. In other words, I have trained for that expectation. You probably should too.

I unfortunately game on a potato machine and I am based very far the servers (best ping 160, norm 250 to 300) so maybe I would not be sitting down or adjusting thinkets every 5 min with a real machine and a local server. But what this does is give boarders a leg up. If they can't interact with items they are less likely to make a mistake.
Suggestion:
Captain has option of turning off interactions for all crew including themselves and straightening trinkets.Sitting etc requires holding F and then space. Cannons, ladders etc no change.

O hey.... X again.Remap maybe quicker.
PC Lags (Uh I mean lords...) should be able to do this to the SEVERAL more input options than controller players. 😒@pithyrumble said in Option to disable Sit Down:
But I collected 20 Stools, 10 storage crates and a good 20 treasure chests and arranged them strategically just to make sure you can't draw or change weapons.
Git gud babe...
Sit and Change Weapons are different buttons tho....
But the fact that what you said is even possible...and the fact that it's been requested for years to allow for a re-bind of the secondary interact...just ridiculous that Rare hasn't addressed that yet.

Why would you want to disable the feature entirely? That would be a lazy workaround.
They just need to make the key to be the secondary action, just like it is on portable stools.
That would literally destroy the ability to play this game on controller because they STILL haven't allowed for secondary interact to be re-binded on controller.
@alienmagi how is it a lazy work around? I'm literally saying give me the option to disable it. If you want to sit then don't disable it.

I would like to have the option to sit without having it bound to the main action button. Your suggestion does nothing for players like me.
@burnbacon Many players use the accessibility setting "Reduce hold to interact" in order to require 1 button/key press to perform an action (this includes but is not limited to: Loading the cannons, lowering the anchor, picking up an item, repairing the ship with a wooden plank, etc.)
When the ship has more interaction points all handled by the same button (due to Xbox controls parity likely), being reckless and pressing the interaction buttons in an incorrect position just punishes you to a short sitting animation you probably don't want to be doing. Granted, not many asked for the sitting feature, or all of the different interactions pots on the ship, however, it would be easy to prevent it by turning off "Reduce hold to interact".
